Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Vegas 2

Post by Abram »

Well I got my copy a day early, so I thought I'd share some basic WS info on it.

Supports 4:3, 16:9 and 16:10 from the options menu.

HOR+ in-game and in menus.

No apperent HUD stretch.

For some reason the 16:10 and 16:9 HUD is set a little higher on the screen, and the higher resolution i tried (1680x1050) gives slightly larger HUD emelents...

FOV scales as it woudl to 4:3 but it's still a little too tight for my liking, but that is the case with the original Vegas as well. If anyone could find a way to increase FOV, that'd be nice. But it IS scaled as intended.

I'm too lazy to up screenshots, but proper support seems to be included in this release.

Huzzah.

Oh ya, a patch has already come out.

PS - the skip intro method, or the skip intro fix from Gamecopyworld and other crack sites that were made for the ORIGINAL Vegas still work on this one. Though when i tried to remove the ESRB warning/rating intro thing the game seems to crash. Maybe I'm missing somethign else....

Mustered the effort to get a couple screens.

4:3 1024x768

16:10 1680x1050

16:10 with thermal

I'll leave menu and 16:9 for someone willing to do a detailed report.

Yeah my copy arrived today too ... shouldn't be out in the UK until Friday ... 8)

So I can confirm what you said above ... :D
Unfortunately without an aspect ratio selection for TripleHead it looks like this ... :(

That scene should look like this ... (but with a wider FOV of course... )

Hopefully our friends Racer_S or dopefish can find us TripleHead users as solution ...

Since it scales using different ratio's it shouldn't be hard to find the correct value. If Dope is willing to put some effort to it it shouldn't take long. Dope 4 the winning!

Yep. I'm working on it already. It's a bit more annoying than FFoW since you have to restart the game when you change the aspect ratio.

Aside from that, this game is millions times better than the first one.

If anyone makes a version 1.3 aspect ratio fix, I will be so happy. I got my TH2G last night and this game would benefit from it more than most, due to the amount of time spent hiding behind cover and peering back and forth.
