I have exactly the same problem. Have 20" SAMSUNG SyncMaster 206BW, prefer to use 640x480 or 800x600 but the image is being scaled, need to center the image (with black empty place), really need to.. Tried nvidia control panel, but scaling options do not move to anything other than the native monitor scaling or nvidia scaling, can't make it without scaling or native aspect, nothing helps.. damn it..
Help plz..

@ op.
Nvidia scaling , it'll be in your graphics optiions.

Ill presume both of you have DVI inputs on your monitors? VGA connections wont work.

ps. @ op again , you realise widescreen in source gives you a competitive advantage over other players right? You get to see more to the left and right of you.

Sure I know about the function in the control panel, but the thing is that it doesn't work for me. Dunno what's wrong but when I try to choose any other option ("no scaling" for example) than nvidia scaling or monitor scaling the checkbox turns back to scaling, so that's the problem.. can't choose "No scaling".

I have NVIDIA 8800GTS with the latest drivers + SAMSUNG SyncMaster 206BW, can't solve the problem..

ALL the scaling options in your video drivers don't do te job for you?

Some monitors have options to force 4:3 and/or enable "1:1" pixel mapping, which shoudl also do the job. Also make sure there aren't newer drivers for your monitor.

Although I've never had the problem, a lot of folks apperently had scaling issues, so try other driver versions.

Yep, scaling and custom resolution don't work..

Even if my monitor have such option to force 4:3 there is no such button or option in the menu.

Both drivers for videocard and monitor are latest, though I tried lots of versions and nothing changes..
