3 monitor set up without the monitors plastic boarders ?????
Hi,
I have x3 22" monitors and was wondering if it is possible to remove the black plastic that holds the LCD screens so I could have a boarderless set up.
I was thinking alone the lines of:
* Removing all 3 montiors from their plastic stands.
* Getting a clear piece of perspex and putting 2 bends in it (to give the rap around).
* Attaching the LCD 3 screens to the perspex.
* Putting x3 new power buttons on the front of the perspex.
Can this be done ?????????
I have never pulled one apart before so dont know if this is possible or what limitations there might be.
* Back light showing ?
* LCD panels my have large edges so gain nothing ?
Thanks.

As you said, backlight may show, also have in mind that not on all screens there´s nothing behind the black borders you might find it´s a continuation of the inner workings and therefore gain nothing. Another point to have in mind is that monitors are not build to be able to take apart, so you may find it tricky, about the power buttons, should just be a matter of adding some cable and putting them where you want them.

What ever happened to that Alienware Monitor, I thought at CES this year they said 100% its getting released to the public this year.
Its not ultra high res but it is bezel free and the lower res means playing games on it would be easier.

I think the expected price is more like $8000.
The resolution is 2880x900.

Very good question.
And it illustrates perfectly why those anti-EyeFinity individuals who go 'why not buy one ultrawide screen, or a 60" 1080p screen?' really need to look at some pricing details. $8000 for low res, or, what, $4000 for three 30" Dell 3008's?

Well, I don't know who is going to pay for it, but the screen uses four LED-driven DLP projectors, so it's automatically very expensive.
