Big far cry issue!

Hey i'm having problems with far cry. :(

I'm gaming at 1680 x 1050 and every thing on high. Looks great except the game seems to have flashing problems. The texture seems to flash randomly for some reason (like a bright light will falsh instead of grass ect). (I am using a 64bit patch):)

As you can see the landscape is being replaced with other textures. It happens so quick it just looks like a flash :)

You need to use at least patch version 1.3 or 1.33 to avoid texture problems in FC, and even then you still get minimal flickers but nothing nearly as bad as you showed.

I get problems liek that if i try to force AA with HDR.. even though my hardware shuld be able to do it.

As for the 64-bit patch, is it the REAL one, or the fake-o (thogh still awesome) 32-bit version?

Either way, did you install it before or after teh patch? Assuming you used teh 1.4 cumulative...

Well if you're not running a 64-bit OS, then you can't really use the 64-bit patch. The 32-bit is unofficial, and has both "32" and "64" in teh original filename. I would THINK that the true 64-bit patch installer would stall if one tried to install it one a 32bit OS.

Or jsut ditch that patch. Other than a bit of extra terrain in teh first couple levels, all it does is add bump-mapping to rocks and a couple other surfaces. You can get much teh same effect by installing the K9-Vision or other large texture pack.

Maybe check out the USisoft Far Cry forums, theyr'e quite helpful and sitll used frequently..
