Theoretical Triplehead setup - 3 x LG L1900J Fantasy 19"
I know this place is clogged with threads as it is, but I have just recently felt the TH2GO hunger inside of me, once again. Part of me still says don't bother, stick with my CRT, and part of me says I WANTZZ ITZ!
Anyway, I was looking for 19" LCD displays with a native 1280x1024 resolution (best to have it at native res, right?), which I could still play non TH2GO games on at a decent resolution (1280x1024 is less than the 1600x1200-2048x1536 I am used to, but hey, it's good enough). Now, on top of this, I was reminded that if I were to get a widescreen display, I would be stuck playing my old games (Baldur's Gate etcetera) in windowed mode anyway, and as such would not be taking full advantage of widescreen on all of my games. Again, add to this, that I spend more time browsing the web, than gaming, and even alt-tab out of games now and then to check message boards (sad I know). With these three, I would be able to run non-TH2GO games on one screen, and browse with the others, right?
So, anyway, here is the monitor that caught my eye:

i was looking at LG L1933TR-SF myself, the ultra thin bezel is whats enticing looks like two side by side equal one regular bezel width.
also fast and somewhat cheap,.. though have to at least check the image quality from a retailer.

Indeed a pretty display. The same basic screen, but with a different stand, no weird button bobble on the bottom bezel, and in silver. Myself, I always prefer black monitors, so I think the first one will be my choice. But cheers for the option, it is nice to know there are other choices! 8)

Yeah, the stand manages to be rather nice, but not gaudy. I like it. Do you have any opinions on alternatives, starfighter?

Personally, I don't like the stand. That setup just screams to me "I need to be mounted, RIGHT NOW!" But the rest of the monitor is really ascetically pleasing.

I have found another LG display with what seems to be the same panel, but with a different stand. Also, it is better priced than that one on amazon, so I can support the WSGF, although it is not available in the WSGF amazon store, only the main amazon.co.uk site!
Also, it is silver, not black.

Decisions, decisions!

LG L1933TR-SF myself, the ultra thin bezel is whats enticing looks like two side by side equal one regular bezel width.I couldn't find that model number on U.K shop websites, but I think I found the monitor - just with a slightly different name. LG L1953PR
also fast and somewhat cheap,.. though have to at least check the image quality from a retailer.

Unlike the first LG monitor I listed (one in the picture at the top), this one is VESA 75mm compliant, which means I can mount it on an LX. Also, as it is cheaper, I won't feel so bad about painting over the silver, with black!
Unless anybody here thinks I am making a big mistake, I might just buy this one! Well three to be exact!

I have mostly an opinion.
the lcds are stylish and have also a small bezel which is does not often do along with style.
LG L1953PR (are technically the same)
All are using (cheap) tn panels so black and colors are not so good as VA panels but their price is higher.
Last review I saw there was eizo 1931se the best ( I can confirm that) but it is expensive. value winner was the Iiyama 1900 black.(but does he have really small bezels ?)
You should look in this sub forum, there wera at least 2 threads about the same question.-

Yeah, I cannot find the eizo 1931se at U.K websites, the closest I can find is the Eizo S1901SH - 19" - SlimEdgehttp://www.nativedigital.co.uk/shop/product.php/587/eizo-s1901sh---19--slimedge
It does indeed look like a fantastic monitor, but at £257.33 inc VAT, they are a good £100 ($200) more than the LG L1953PR at £151.06 inc vat (about $300 each).
So, either I opt for lesser quality displays at a total of £450 ($900), or go for the much better ones at about £750 ($1500).
p.s I am glad to have this forum to fall back on, you guys are really helpful, and if it weren't for you, I'd probably have made the wrong choices in several purchases this year!

Bumpity.
I found another Eizo monitor at the same site.
Eizo S1931SH - 19" SlimEdge
Same basic model as the VA panel Eizo S1921SH - 19" SlimEdge, but with a quicker 8ms response time. Again, I would be paying more for it, but then I have come to realise that if I am hoping to buy a lasting Triplehead setup, then the last thing I should do is buy three lesser quality monitors that I get fed up with later. It is also worth noting that with slim 13mm bezels, I won't need to rip these apart to make thinner ones.
SPECS:
13mm Bezel
1280 x 1024 pixel resolution
178 degrees viewing angles
1000:1 contrast ratio
280 cd/m² brightness
10 cm height adjustable
10 bit look-up-table (LUT) for optimal colour reproduction
8ms mid-tone response time
I'm going to think on it.

Haha, yeah, it really does show once you changed the quantity in the online shopping cart to '3', and click 'update cart'. However, I feel confident that I shall not regret spending that little bit more in the long run, especially with the nice five year warranty they each come with!
Thank you all for your help guys! : :D
