Age of empires II - Conquerors- Resolution Help plz!!!!!!

Hi pple :D im very new at the fourum :oops:
IÂ´ll tell u a little my history hehe...
I play the age in a clan .. which takes part in many international leagues all the time .. my problem was that i bought a monitor for many motives but the principal one was to be able to play mas comfortably since with the previous one cant to do it and I meet that does not support the resolution 1280 x 1024..
I will be very grateful if u were helping me to modify the file that corresponds to be able to play in a comfortable resolution..

BTW: My monitor is LG FLATRON L192ws

Maybe I express wrong ... What i wanted to know was whether it could help me how to optimize game Age of empires Conquerors to a monitor Wide ... Adapting the resolution of the game .. Or something ...

I don't know, but I think it is impossible to make the game run on a widescreen resolution without stretching.
I have Age of Empires 2 somewhere so I might install it later and try it.

unfortunately for you I'm 95% sure we couldn't get it to go widescreen.

Maxing out at 1280x1024. The engine uses DX7 I believe which is extremely limited.

Quoted For Truth. I have the game installed and I can only get 1280x1024.

Also, calm down Mhytos, we have many international posters, so many time zones are spanned, allow 24 hours for a qood number of responces.

Yeah, I tried to add widescreen support to AoE2 a while back by hex editing it, but I could only alter the game window; the play area itself stayed in 4:3 and the remainder of the screen was a solid bright pink. Not exactly the desired effect.

If a solution is ever found, it will almost certainly come in the way of a hacked .exe and it will either stretch, or the game area will be expanded (like Red Alert 2). In that case it might be deemed a cheat in multiplayer (since you can view more of the map than normal).

I hope a solution is found though. It's a wonderful game.
