Old pre-rendered games

How do I get it to show borders. I'd like to play games like Jagged Alliance 2, Fallout, Disciples again, but it stretches the screen.

I've managed to get it right on my gf's laptop by going into desktop -> properties -> ... but I don't seem to have the option on my computer.
The laptop has nvidea card.

My computer has an Ati Radeon x1600pro. Can't seem to change it anywhere in catalyst control center either.

Anyone got an idea?

Turn on "Video Card Controlled Aspect Ratio Scaling" in your Catalyst Drivers.

It's not word for word perfect, but I don't have an ATI card, regardless you understand what to look for and turn on

For Nvidia users it would be "Nvidia Scaling with Fixed-Aspect Ratio"

If only it was that easy... there is no option for that on ati it seems
