[quote]Anybody else having problems with their mouse not working with the 1.4 patch. My mouse doesn't work in the game at all, but does in the menus. Odd. I might have to revert back to the 1.33 patch too see if that works.

Shame really, because I really like the multiplayer.

Have the same problem.

A couple members over at some other forums im part of have that problem too...

I thought the easiest setting was a little.. sorry, way way too easy in places. But, like most of the other settings, still insane in small sections.

I'm glad CryTek actually came out and appologied for those Trigens. Excellent, excellent game. But dear lord, Far Cry is REALLY REALLY cheap in places.

I also found one section in particular of the Volcanco level really frustrating.. until I discovered the weapons/ammo room and brought out the LMG.

LMG+Trigens = Sweet, sweet revenge..

DAMN THIS GAME!!! DAMN IT ALL TO HELLL!!!!

Fook, like someone else said, you can waltz through some levels but other places are insane. I-N-S-A-N-E.

I'm on the Cooler level and I'm in an elevator with two of those fookin uber-trigens chasing me around a cramped area.

Apparently I cannot kill them.

I'm going to hurt something soon.

AARGGHH!!!!

Thanks for the vent, feel much better now.

EDIT : Just read a walkthrough and you're not supposed to kill these Fatboys here. Run past them into a vent and then pick them off later.

Goes against my grain, but run away Bronski Beat style it is then...

I don't think I ever played FarCry when it was v1.0... because back in those days I still had a dell with a 32MB video card  .

But, once I did get it a year and a half ago... it's been one of my favorite all-time games. It takes me forever to beat single player versions of any game... so I play SP off & on all the time. I always play it on challenging, and it is rediculous in some areas. Not enough for me to lower it though. I don't care for the trigens... but I like some of the spooky indoor labs that show off the physics of items and cool lighting :D

I was able to get the v1.4 BETA patch a few months ago... and my favoirte part was the new options to the server browser (Max players, map, gametype, favorites, etc was awesome!) Unfortunatley, I had to un-install the full 1.4 patch because the terrain was turning blue on me :( And I have to say, in the last year, FC multiplayer has gone down the tubes. The only servers that have people in them now have pings of 180+ (eaurope servers), they all have like fifty map packs installed, and have rediculous modifications like a run speed 3 times the norm. Did I mention the amount of hackers in that game is insane? Such a shame, I loved that game so much...

Hm, I've played Far Cry through a few times now and I've never NOT killed thsoe two Fatboys after exiting the elevator.. even on Realistic - though it took many tries.

Lean out of teh elevator and snipe the first one to the lft in the herad a few tiems, then empty a clip on it (in the head) and that will takes care of the first one.

For the other one, just keep it at teh oppisite end of teh ahll from you and kjeeo hitting it.

There's also a health pack in teh area.

Yeah, thanks, I did get past them now.

What I don't like about this game is the fact you need to keep reloading levels until you memorize where all the bad guys are and come up with a plan to get through.

I much prefer a balanced game where a good gamer can get through a level if he/she is cautious and skilled.

Instead of a mental hard level where you keep freakin reloading until you catch the loopholes.

I'm about ready to pack it in with this game. I haven't even reached the Volcano I've heard so much about.

Maybe a God-mode is in order, I just want to finish this fooker.

Ah Far Cry.. I found it really hard on Challenging. On the easiest setting though, I didn't find it too bad.

The volcano level was ridiculous.. until I discovered the blatently obvious area with all the guns locked up. Hello Fatboys, meet LMG! After that, it was just hard.

Even Challenging was a bit horrific at points.

i bought Far Cry for myself for Christmas, and I've gotten to my breaking point. My life bar is at 1/2 and I have 20+ guys in my way. I was able to sneek around them once and grab a health pack, but trying again won't work.

Things I've found annoying are:

I'm laying prone and toss a rock on the other side of a hut... the enemies come right at me.

I'm in all this brush, enemies come right at me.

The textures always black out on the terrain. I'm running a 2.4ghz AMD, 2 gb ram, 7800gtx and I can't get the damn textures to work right.

Other than that, the enemies being a bitch and spotting you too easily when you're hiding is my only real compliant. That, and clearing an area only to be shot from someone up on a hill and having to repeat the entire segment again.

Try throwing the rocks a bit further ;)

And, what patch are you using for FarCry? When I was using my ATI Radeon X800XL I would get black terrain with the official v1.4 patch. Try reverting to the previous version (v3.33 I beleive) and that may fix your problem.
