Battlefield 2142 Pre-order info

I just got BF2 not long ago and love the game to death then not long after I heard about this new game BF2142 I though meh I just droped the cash on this game and love it I really dont need to get this one.

But I have looked into it more
(total battlefield 2142 is a good site) and pretty much decided I gotta have this game.

I really like the theme and setting in BF2 as a former marine it really appealed to me, the sci-fi and future setting of BF2142 didnt so much. Untill I found out about the cloaking device, the sniper rifle with a zoom scope, saw the 2 legged walking tank deal.

It looks to be a really fun game.

I think I will go with best buy, even tho a free rank up is cool, you an always get rank but never a exclusive weapon.

Also there is a veterans program for anybody that owns BF2 to hold your name ahead of time for BF2142 and get a free rank up

There is no special weapon or anything like it, i know i was one of the BETA testers. You will only get a skin patch that will make you gun look and sound different, that's all. As for the game, well it's full of the same bugs as BF2. Guns are way to inaccurate and ans unpowerful. Anti-tank and Anti-air missiles still can't make any damage ( need 3-4 to take down anything ) Need a full clip to kill anyone....I'd say wait for it, don't go jumping into the hype to soon....

I find of the late in bf2 people kill me in 1 or 2 shots and a whole clip wont kill them, I am not sure whats up with that.

I seem to only really do good as a sniper.

I hear sniper is not so good right now in the new game, but that will change before the full release.

I also heard about the skin/sound change just wasnt sure if this was the same weapon or not.

wait a month... once you see unreal 2007 and quake wars, I doubt you'll 'need' to have BF2142 anymore :P

Yes UT2007 that will surly be a cool game. I loved UT2004 probably my most played fps game ever.

I do currently like BF2 more than UT2004 but I have also had UT2004 forever and just got BF2 not too long ago.

This is really the wrong forum to make advertisements for a Battlefield game, as Battlefield games do not support widescreen resolutions properly!

Besides, the Battlefield games SUCK. They're full of bugs which never get fixed, because instead of caring about quality, Dice/EA care only about making quick bucks.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will be a million times better than Battlefield, because it's being developed by a team of pros who really care about quality.

I am always a neutral identity, The game for me has had little or no issues I do understand that this is a widescreen based forum and that BF2 doesnt support it (atleast not on ranked servers) however I would have pointed out that BF2142 is supposed to support widescreen, and infact that information was posted on these forums. However I just came to say that I got reports from good sources that the game will indeed NOT support widescreen upon release, but its a possible patch.

Of course I know nobody will be relying on a patch since it never happened with BF2.

BF2142 officially does NOT have proper widescreen support. People at Dice have said this a couple of times. Basically, widescreen resolutions will work, but the field of view will be totally gimped, so that we actually see less (same horizontally, less vertically) than on 4:3 resolutions - it'll be just like in BF2. I ain't supporting that shit, and neither should any widescreen gamer!

Widescreen support on 2142 is the same has BF2 regular, non-existent, EA/DICE says it is not important because not enough players have it....2142 has added breathing movement to the sniper, meaning that when scoped your view goes up and donw ( a cheaper imitation of America's Army implementation of brething ) Field of view stays the same it's not gimped at all.

I'm really concerned about BF2142. I know a number of people massively excited about this game. EA has them enslaved and brainwashed to hand over money for more of the same. :cry:

I BETA tested the game and will not buy it, didn't like it at all. In the end it is only a new MOD of BF2.
