Same method that worked with F.E.A.R. seems to work with the demo.

Downloaded the demo - will try it this evening. :)

Stretch, the original FEAR was really cool. Well worth playing; although it's a serious system hog... ;)

For some odd reason, I cannot get this demo to play with sound. The movies play with sound. The game does not. :? Other games work fine. Meh. Whatever.

I haven't actually tried the game itself yet. New hardware came in today so I was kind of busy rebuilding a couple of PCs :P.

I highly recommend the original! While a bit redundant at times, there is a certain "coolness" factor about the game that keeps you coming back for more. As a matter of fact, it's been a while and time to play through it once again!

The game seems to be RAM dependant, so make sure you have a lot of high quality RAM. I first ran played the game with a 2500+ CPU, ATi 9800 Pro, and 1 GB OCZ Plat 2 RAM. Game ran great, with the occasional slowdown in later levels. There were some places the game slowed my system to a crawl, but for the most part, it ran well with settings on high.

i tried this demo, and fortunately the 7950GX2 eats it up, spits it out, and still has room for more.

hard to believe they can improve on FEAR but seems like they have listened to the community and introduced more varied enemies.

I also play fear no issues on my system, biggest waist of resources you can easily save yourself???? Soft Shadows.

Turn them OFF!!

it makes so little impact in the way of visual that its a joke but next to maybe AA and AF at max its the biggest hit on performance!

I actually prefer the way it looks with them off anyways.

You and everyone else :P. Yeah, Soft Shadows was always something you were advised to turn off in the original too. It almost makes one wonder why it was even included :?.

A demo for an expansion pack??

I don't think i've seen that before...

Seems liek teh developers' time would be better spent on finishing the final product, as i'm sure it wont' differ too much from the full game.

I doubt the time it took them to make the demo was anything drastic, especially this close to the release date.
