Widescreen + TripleHead2Go = Bad?

Post by Hagelin »

Hello!
I'm going to keep this short. I was thinking about buying 3 Samsung 19" LCD Syncmaster 940BW and a TripleHead2Go. but when I read about the TripleHead2Go it said "You can't use 3 widescreen resolutions, so if you use widescreens you will get a streched picture".
My question is if this is still a problem or have they updated it in some way?

You can see all of the available TripleHead2Go resolutions in the bottom post of this thread. The Digital TripleHead2Go offers one triple 16:10 resolution, 3840x800. This will not stretch your images, but you will wind up interpolating 1280x800 per screen onto a 1440x900 monitor.

You are better off getting 3 5:4 19" monitors with a resolution of 1280x1024. This is plenty wide enough and offers better scaling options.

The problem here is that I already own one of the Widescreen.

Or I do have a 1280x1024 Philips but that screen dosen't sell anymore, or can you mix 2 types of different screens with the same resolution?

Ah, having one widescreen already does complicate things. That's a typical quandry for members on this forum. :)

Mixing two types of screens with the same resolution is generally not a problem. You might care if you are a perfectionist type, since it will be more difficult to match colors exactly (if this is even possible at all), but I've done it and it looked fine to me.

The below shots use Dell 1905FPs on the sides and an Acer AL1917 in the middle.

That sounds great but there is ANOTHER problem again :?
My Philips screen has very big frames. Will this be a problem or maybe I wont notice?
