Hey guys, I just joined the forum and first off would like to say I am so thankful there is a widescreen forum to help making everyones(including mine) widescreen gaming hassle free! So much great information here! :D
Anyway.......I recently just got a ViewSonic VX2025 20in widescreen, 1680x1050. Id like to add that I am absolutly blown away gaming at 1680x1050, going from 1024x768 to this is just unbeleivable.
Ive been playing FEAR, FarCry, CS:S, DOD:S, HL2/Ep1 and Sin Emergence without any problems at all. The only issue Ive found so far, is that when playing Doom3 or Quake4, V-sync isnt working at 1680x1050 even when its enabled. Has anyone else experienced this issue or have a fix for this??? Is there a specific command that Im missing when changing the Doom/Quake config???
If you have any info. or advice let me know, thanks in advance!

Doom3/Quake4 V-sync issue when running 1680x1050
Yeah thats the weird thing, I always force all my settings for any game I play just to be sure. Is it more likely a driver issue, than a problem with the game running widescreen or possibly the settings I changed in the config???
EDIT:
Ok well it seems I was wrong about V-sync not working.........when using Fraps to check my fps, Im getting a constant 30/60fps, but Im still getting nasty tearing. The reason I thought V-sync wasnt working was because of the tearing, but since my fps is constant Im pertty sure it is.
What do you think could be causing the tearing if V-sync is working???
Another weird thing I just found out, is if I take a screenshot when Im getting really bad tearing, the tearing does not show up in the screenshot..........why do you think its doing that?
