March 1, 2006 - Xbox 360 owners looking forward to Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter as a showcase for their fancy concave console have reason to smile: Ubisoft announced today that the X360 version is gold and will ship next week, alongside the Xbox edition.

Mouse and keyboard fans, however, will remain in training longer, as the company confirmed today is postponing the PC version to May. The game was originally scheduled for late March.

Ubisoft says the PC delay will allow the game's developers "more time to put the finishing touches on the game and make it the best possible PC gaming experience."

I think I have watched just about every video and seen every screenshot for this game ... I am overflowing with anticipation of how good it looks.
Now the PC version has been put back to May I'm not too disappointed as I will get to play the 360 version first ... and I'll be treating it as if it is the demo for the PC version ... :mrgreen: ... and there is only a couple of days to go ... :shock: :D

I can't wait .... .... one big problem for me is I'm right in the middle of the busiest few weeks of my year and for the first four days after the 360 release I'll be away from home unable to play ... what a bummer ... :(

Here is a screenshot taken from one of the videos ... the Ghosts jumping out of a helicopter ... just look at the way the bottom half of them disappears in to the dust stirred up by the heli ... it looks soooo juicy ... :shock: 8) :shock:

I pre-ordered it so if the store gets enough copies I will get my 360 version on friday. As far as it looks now I will have a lot of time to play it this weekend :D.

I just got an email from play.com saying my 360 copy is in the post ... :shock: 8) :D
Just a shame I won't be able to play it until Monday ... :(
May be I'll have to pop home on Saturday night to have a quick look at it ... :mrgreen:

It sounds to me like it might be the best version of the game ... however there is no hint if it's going to widescreen or not ... :(

I really like the 3rd person look of the console version so if it's not available like that on the pc i think i'll miss something. :(

I've only seen first person screenshots for the PC ... and I think I read somewhere that it will be first person only ... :(

I could be wrong though.

Like Paddy i've only seen first-person screenshots... but they can't take away 3rd person -- that's what MADE the first Ghost Recon so cool. you could see all your movements and actions.

I think it would be a safe bet that the PC version will have 3rd-person too.

I soo hope your right, i agree with you seeing your own moves make it look more cool.
It makes it somehow more cinematic so to speak.

I'm pretty sure the Xbox and PC versions are the only ones that allow you to use first person as well as 3rd person. The 360 version is 3rd only.

I'm most likely going to pick this game up tommorow afternoon so I'll let you guys know how it is on 360! Maybe take some pics too...too bad I don't have a 2405 yet.
