Widescreen Gaming Forum

Greetings all,

This is my first time to this forum, and it's great! I was having a problem with C&C3 and Evil Genius. I'm running a Sceptre widescreen TV as my main monitor using VGA out with a x800XL ATI video card at 1280x768.

Both games had a display problem. Neither game lists widescreen resolutions, instead defaulting to 4:3 resolutions (1280x1024). Unfortunately, this causes the center of the screen to be shifted drastically to the right. I can't see about 1/3 of the game screen because it is simply not on the television, and there's a big black bar on the left. I tried using my TV's settings to shift the screen appropriately, but it wouldn't allow me to shift it far enough.

I found a solution for C&C3 on these forums (using -xres 1280 -yres 768 in the shortcut forces the resolution). I've tried similar commands with Evil Genius and even looked through the registry for some sort of default resolution, but to no avail.

Has anyone gotten widescreen to work with Evil Genius? Thanks for your help
