Dragons Dogma 21:9

Post by skillz4me5 »

Can someone who has a review copy or the leaked version please report if the game renders at 21:9?

According to the dev he stated it would NOT be supported because of the UI being designed for 16:9, this sounds like it should still render at 21:9 with the UI being locked at 16:9 (which is fine).

I tried it out. It's busted. Basically, the entire image stretches way too far, so you can't see a large chunk of the image.

Not only that, the HP bars of your Pawns are at their feet and not above their heads. Also some lightning effects are completly missplaced. At the moment its unplayable, lets hope it gets fixed.

It would be awesome to know that there was someone at least taking a look at this game to see if its possible to get a fix up and running for this game. It doesnt seem like its really bad, because its rendering 3440x1440 fine not stretched out, the only problem is the bottom quarter of the screen is cut off.

Im not sure how this forum works really as im pretty new here... Is there a team of people that usually look at games to fix? Is the flawless widescreen project even still active?

Using GeDoSaTo to downscale a 16:9 res to 21:9 with maintainAspectRatio set to false.
The UI is tolerable so a way to just increase the FOV past the in-game setting of 15 would be awesome.

Download GeDoSaTo from here: http://blog.metaclassofnil.com/?page_id=582

Inside the tool click Edit Settings, on the bottom next to Profile, select "config\DDDA\GeDoSaTo.ini"
On the bottom paste this:

Code: Select all

#16:9 resolution to downscale from
renderResolution 2560x1440@60
renderResolution 3200x1800@60
renderResolution 3840x2160@60

#Your actual monitor resolution
presentWidth 2560
presentHeight 1080
presentHz 60

#stretch the image instead of scale
maintainAspectRatio false

The game will probably start on 2560x1080 (or whatever res you're running) so the image will be cut off. Go into graphics settings and pick one of the resolutions from above and make sure to put the FOV slider on +15.

It's not very pretty though, it needs a much higher FOV.

This is just stretching a 16:9 image into a 21:9 aspect. Id rather wait till a real fix is made.

Right, that's what I was saying. Because this game already has an FOV slider, some tweak to make it go past what the maximum in the game options is would be great. The UI is serviceable when stretched.

Does Agnostic Dragon still work for most folks?

As long as the d3d9.dll is present in the game directory (steam version) from either the latest stable or even the pre - release version the game will not launch. No error, nothing. Running the exe does absolutely nothing. As soon as I remove the addon or just the d3d9.dll the game launches just fine albeit without the functioning fix of course.
