the dumbing down was actually only without day1 patch! Rumors say...

sadly there is a tiny little Problem with Crossfire :(

but well, Single GPU it works quite well, if you deactivate Anti Aliasing, because that causes horrible stuttering on certain objects... it's strange ^^ but AMD said new driver will come this week.

Getting roughly 35-45FPS on a 290@1125mhz in 5760x1080 reduced settings.

I've found a way to adjust the HUD beyond the 16:9 resolution:

In user.settings at Documents/The Witcher3 the uiVerticalFrameScale and uiHorizontalFrameScale can be modified. Make sure to set the file to read-only afterwards!

Here's the regular UIHorizontalScale 1 limit versus 1.3 set manually at 2560x1080:

Wow the uihorizontalscale really makes a big difference, I set it to 1.35 and its pretty much perfect now. If only there were a way to get rid of the letterboxes in in engine cut scenes.

It'd certainly be nice to be able to watch the cutscenes in ultrawide format. I'm surprised they didn't even drop an option for it, given some of the trailers (E3 2014) featuring cutscenes for that game were framed for 21:9.

i think they purposely added black side monitors to the dialogue scenes because you have to much of a Field of View in this moment and would see a lot of things that could break your immersion.
Can't say if i agree with them or not if i haven't seen it.
