BF2142 widescreen command line dosent work

BF2142 widescreen command line dosent work

I put the +szx 1680 +szy 1050 in the comaand line and when i [play the game it isint at that resolution its still at a low res. Although about 2 or 3 times it went to that resolution. What is wrong and how do I fix this?
