Team Fortress 2 Eyefinity fix

Post by kennykjc »

I googled and installed a fix. But then each time I started TF2 it would crash back to the desktop.

So I thought before trying again I would make a post about it. I did have a custom HUD already installed and some of it is still there although some of it reverted back to the default HUD after I verified the game files to get TF2 working again.

I want to be able to play with Eyefinity and have ALL of the HUD on the center monitor. Especially chat and kill notices.

Thanks.

Server settings can be part of the issue. If the settings are restrictive then HUD fixes might be ignored or you could experience problems. Plus, Valve unfortunately roped FOV into the same situation earlier this year:
Source Engine Changes (TF2, DoD:S, HL2:DM)

* Limit the effective FOV of players using wide-screen resolutions with aspect ratios wider than 1.85:1. The sv_restrict_aspect_ratio_fov ConVar can be changed to remove the restriction or make the restriction also apply to full-screen players.

Basically, it may be impossible to play on some servers with HUD/FOV adjustments.

Try this... http://www.wsgf.org/node/8671 works for me on the servers that allow it to be used :)
