Display Issue : Side screens turning off if scene is too dark.

Post by Raarup »

I got a sudden problem.

if I play BF3 and I scope in a sniper scope - my side screens slowly turn off and go into standby mode - when I scope out, they turn back on very fast thou.

In Skyrim, in a cave - if the wall is too dark due to low light, the side screen will turn off if it faces said place.

Ive checked all my settings, I dont have any eco settings on, my power options and set to never turn anything off and my GFX power management is set to max in the Nvidia control panel.

Anyone know this issue ?

That sounds like the monitor

That sounds like the monitor doing it itself. Try turning off any dynamic contrast settings. Some displays, if they detect all balck, they turn off so they can hit those magical dynamic contrast ratios (which are bs).

In the end, I tried to turn ON "Auto Bright" settings, but now it dont turn off anymore..

So, apparently it was a monitor setting - was just really stupid setting.
