This might sound like a silly question, but is it possible to get the same advantage of multiple monitors on a single screen for gaming? I can think of two ways this would look:
1- A drastic letterbox/widescreen effect would occur but you would still have a wider field of view.
OR
2- The equivalent of three screens would fill one monitor and in turn would be incredibly squished.
Basically I’m just trying to get that advantage of a wider perspective on a single monitor for gaming.

in those games where you have to change the fov variable you can always use a higher FOV.
example would be typing 'fov 180' in oblivion console

Emulating Multiple Monitors on One Screen?
Okay, that’s cool. But what about games that don't allow me that option (like World of Warcraft)? Is there some kind of widescreen resolution I can use, or will that just give me the illusion of a wider image and really it’s just stretching the screen.
