Hello all,
I am currently working on a new computer build and am waiting for Ivy Bridge and the Nvidia 600 series cards to come out. With plans for a beefy system, I have been thinking about pulling the trigger on a multi-monitor setup to game using Nvidia Surround. With that said, I've been looking for monitors that have a thin bezel (I don't want to mod) and aren't too expensive - under $200, preferably under $150.
In my search for monitors, I've stumbled across the Acer S231HLbid. Currently, Newegg has them as a 'deal of the week' for $139.99. That's a pretty attractive price considering I could get 3 of those and a triple-monitor mount for ~$650. So here's a couple quick questions:
1. Any reason to stay away from these monitors?
2. Is there a better monitor out there for a similar price?
3. Any recommendations on a desk that is wide enough for this setup with room for the tower?
Thanks much,
Mr00000
Thinking About Getting Into Multi-Monitor Gaming
Far as i know, you still need
Far as i know, you still need 2 Nvidia cards to run triple displays. I've liked the Acer displays I've owned, and that's a nice price. samsung are pretty good, too.
It took me two years to find a suitable desk at a reasonable price.. I was on the verge of just building myself one until I lucked out on a 3x5.5 desk with a side dealie for just over a hundred bucks. Alternatively, you can get a mount with a single, large base and get away with a very small desk. jsut make sure it's stable and strong.
