Widescreen Projectors OK at slow scan speeds?

Post by bryn »

I'm planning on using the digital TH2GO with 3 widescreen projectors.

Do projectors have the same problems with the slow scan speeds required by the TH2GO that some monitors have or will any projector (read, "cheap") do the job?

Well depends on the resolution. Almost all the resolutions will run at 60Hz on the TH2Go. Some can go even higher. The only Resolution you need to "worry" about is 5040x1050 (3x1680x1050) because it can run at 57Hz or 59Hz. In general 59Hz is close enough to 60Hz that everything I've seen can use it. So I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Yes, it is the 5040x1050 that I am most interested in - although the cost of projectors able to handle this may mean I have to downscale somewhat, in which case the sub-60Hz problem may not be an issue.
