- I am considering building a Core I7 system with 2 PCI express X16 slots. Do all LGA1366 motherboards with 2 or more PCI express X16 slots support 2 video cards?
- I currently have a 4550 card and a 5770 card. Can I install both of those and run 3 monitors on the 5770 (1 is display port) and 2 more monitors on the 4550 at the same time?
- Can I extend my desktop to all 5 monitors?
sorry for being a newb,
thanks for everyone's help,
-Scott

Re: future setup for 5 monitors?
Yes
Yes, however you will need an active displayport adapter or a displayport to vga adapter to activate the 3rd monitor on the 5770.
Yes, as above.
Now with that said.. there is a HUGE difference between extending your desktop to 5 monitors, and playing games on 5 monitors... You might be able to use softth to add the 2 outer most displays (assuming you are doing 5x1). With the eyefinity group in the middle. But someone more knowledgeable will have to chime in for that :)

I'm only planning on using the 3 connected to my 5770 for gaming. I just want the ability to connect a 4th and 5th monitor and actually use them in windows.
Recently I purchased a 4350 PCI card and was not able to use it in my current setup with the 5770. I got resource conflicts when trying to use both cards.
I'll just keep saving up for a core i7 rig.
thanks for the great help!
