EDIT: It's looks like a Steam user Kaldaien is working into fixing the game. So he may fix it

This is what i did

Use the HEX editor to get this runing at 21:9.

But this will strech a little the image to fit your screen, if u want to try out, you just need to change some codes in HeX.

change all this lines 39 8E E3 3F to 26 B4 17 40 if what u want is 2560x1080

If u want 3440x1440, try this one 8E E3 18 40

Again, this will just strech the imagem to fit your screen.

It is not what we want, but is something.

PS: aways make a backup of ur original.exe

I heard that you can use cheat engine to unlock the the 16:9 aspect ratio. Just gonna post what a Steam user "Rassius" said

"A good friend of mine managed to get the game working in 21:9 without stretching through some tinkering with Cheat Engine. Of course, we don't know if it will work flawlessly during the entire game because of the pre-rendered scenarios, but it's a start. Proof here http://imgur.com/6ZJBCQe (it's a screenshot he sent to me).

I don't know the exact details, but I know he did something similar with FF XIII and wrote a guide about it. Maybe it could help as a reference."

But ya Cheat Engine could do if you can toggle between the locked/unlock the the 16:9 aspect ratio ingame. I might just play it on 4k TV instead as it's seems its gonna take a while to get 21:9 working fix. Thx for tip mvfcarvalho although.

This is good. I'm going to check back here every few days. I was able to get the hex editor working with stretching, but I'm going to wait for a better solution

Well considering this was a 4:3 game back in the day and a lot of the backdrops in the game are static with fixed camera angles, I'm not sure that 21:9 will ever be supported unfortunately.

Thanks for this but it didn't work with my 3440 x 1440 monitor. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your time.

i ll take a look back at home to see what can i do.

Hello, this metod worked really well with FFX.

But doesn't work for FFX-2 ( I already changed the lines with hex editor).

What can i do?

Thanks a lot

I will pay $50 to whoever can fix this game to support 21:9 with not stretching.
