Doesn't work for the final release of FIFA 16, tested now but still get black bars. Worked fine on the Demo. Very disappointing,

FIFA 16 not support 21:9 aspect ratio. I refound money.

Hopefully someone here can find a different fix for it, I've just started pre-loading it from Origin

Unless they fix it on their own; It's EA, it's EA Sports, and it's an issue that's been there since 21:9 and since Fifa 15 first came, which was 2494854 years ago if my calculations are correct. I wouldn't rate the chances that high of them fixing this. Although kudos for starting a process!

What do you say we start a process of our own? We gather more fans from the other Fifa forums to this topic=more complaints. We keep fiddling with own fixes. I'm a web developer but know virtually nothing about Hex-codes, but I'll do my best. Also, we get hold of people that might know how to fix it, and offer them incentive in form of payment. I'm willing to pay up if you guys are. 10£/$/€ will amount to quite much if there are several of us. What do you say? Fifa 16 without black bars needs to happen.

I meant asking someone who knows how to fix it to do a home fix, like the hex-edit thing by Jackfuste-something. I'll contact him and ask him if it's doable for money. We better start asking around

This is fucking horrible. It is even possible they screw this intencionally? I have found out that when you modify demo.exe there are 5 changed strings when in full version exe there are only 3 changes. So I think we are talking about those two missing lines that they are changes from demo

by the way i didn't write this i found it on the EA forum i just thought i would share and maybe someone in here can get a permanent fix ...by the way i have followed these steps below and they worked .....

Using 'Cheat Engine', solved the 21:9 problem. Thank you for R.F.A
However, this method is a little uncomfortable.

1. Download the Cheat Engine. http://www.cheatengine.org/downloads.php
2. Run the game with ultra-widescreen resolutions.
3. Run the Cheat Engine
4. Click the 'Open Process' and select 'fifa16.exe'
5. 'Open' Click
6. 'Hex' checks
7. Enter '3FE38E39' in 'Value' and 'First Scan' click
8. Double Click 'Adress 14339D5B0'
9. Change Value '4018E38E' (3440X1440) or '4017b426' (2560 * 1080)
10. It will change the aspect ratio of the game

This method must be done every time you run the game.

Thanks Jaykop I'll give this a try tomorrow, apart from the lack of ultrawide support I've found the game runs much smoother than the previous games and graphically it's a huge improvement. Only issue I've had so far is online play, the lag is horrendous

It works great and the game now looks like it should on an ultrawide monitor. I wouldn't risk going online with it though but that's no biggy as I don't play Fifa online at all. Thanks for sharing jaykop, great find.

I've went through every step on cheat engine and It won't work. After step 9 am i meant to save it or something?

I'm really considering selling my ultrawide for a 4k monitor. I love the extra FOV but I'm just getting tired of the lack of support. It's becoming a joke to be honest.

Try tapping left_alt+enter after last step. But firstly activate FIFA 16 window. In fact you could even close CheatEngine after all.

What a pitty, I can't find the entry! Did anyone also faced this issue?

I can found value but it doesn't work, probably Ea cut it down to pieces. In Fifa 15 i could force fifa to run even in a 400x300 window using windowed borderless gaming program. In fifa 16 it cant scale or change the size of a window.

Ok it works, im dumb
For 4:3 replace with 3FAAAAAB and bam fullscreen. Wrong value will crash the game and you have to start game windowed change value, hit alt-enter or maximize window.

That file works a treat I noticed you have to open the game first, if you open the file first the Fifa 16 launcher won't launch the game.

thank you but nothing happnes when I press F4.
I cannot launch the game when I launch the fixer before.
When I launch the game and tab switch to the game directory, where I put the fixer, launch it and then go back to press F4 in the game, nothing happens. I also tried to go back to the fixer again and press F4. The line with 2560x1080 is red for few seconds, but also here nothing happens.

I have just the german demo version, win 8.1 x64, hd7970, fx-8350 and of course the latest catalyst.

The fix won't work with the demo, it's designed for the full game.

Install from this link to your desktop to easily gain access but don't run. You need to start the game press alt and tab to gain access to your desktop then run the link Fifa16 Aspect ratio changer. Press f4 then close the app, to get your fifa back to full screen from windowed press alt and enter. ENJOY

For the hud it probably need a fix similar like Metal Gear solid. That is probably a bit more complicated than one static address in CE Forgot to mention that game must be running before starting fixer.
It won't work on demo version and about online we all know that Ea doesnt have anticheat system like WoW for example (warden). I wouldnt use fixer with WoW minimized while playing Fifa, that could be detected as cheating in WoW.

I have the LG29UM67P, connected by DisplayPort and easiest solution for now is: "Who have another monitor test"

Disable AMD FreeSync in monitor settings, who have a AMD graph that allows enable this function.

In the game options pick the highest resolution 21/9 or 1920x1080, and 1920x1080 for desktop resolution, when you start the game is set to full screen automatically.

Much easier just have to change the desktop resolution, each time you want to play.

I have a 3 monitor setup with eyefinity. I can do the hex editing but I can't for the life of me work out what the hex values should be for that res.

For 5760x1200 the hex value you have to enter is 4099999A.

Make sure you follow the above process (using fifa16.exe instead of fifa15.exe) anytime there is an update. 21x9 still works for me using this and jaykop's CheatEngine fix.

I can confirm jaykop´s CE fix still works. But changing the values of fifa16.exe does not.

Guys, I play on a 2560x1080 monitor and I've found that if you right click the desktop, change your resolution to 1920x1080 then launch the game in 1920x1080, you should be good to go.

Hey guys, apparently I'm a real f'ing noob: I have followed the manual instructions to modify the hey values. Of course no success. Now I have downloaded DelBierzos Cheat Enginer. No matter when I press the shortcut - before game lauch, in the menu or midgame - nothing happens (except that the toggle in the cheat enginer flashes red for a few seconds). Can one of you give me some noob-proof instructiins of how to use the Enginer and when to do what? Thx! (resolution should be 2560x1080)

There was a new update, so nothing works for anyone anymore.. Sigh. He will hopefully give us a new version soon.

Btw, my 3440x1440 didn't work so I had to play with 2560x1440 with small black borders so if that can be fixed it would be great

Before the Update comes, it works very fine for me. But now i can´t download the new version in 99% of my try´s. It load up to 100% and then the download failed. The other 1% chance is comes with the mega-link. But after download the File, i extract it to any folder and then it disappear automatically after 1 Second. Then the folder is empty... any suggestions?

1.) deactivate your antivirus or whitelist the folder
2.) praise me

(btw I cant get it to work... I really cant... Does one have to use specific settings in the game launcher settings?)

EDIT 3: Apologies for answering my own post so many times. So I got everything working, being the noob I didn't realise that after making the change you are then able to pick the 2560x1280 resolution from within the FIFA settings app (I really don't remember seeing it there the first time). So explains the below why I was getting letter box.

Finally took the plunge and got the LG 29UM67-P, arrived yesterday and really happy with it.

I was overjoyed to see that FIFA 15 and 16 have had some joy finally at WSGF. Unfortunately it's not quite working for me.

This actually applies to FIFA 15 but from what I can see follow same principal. After changing the HEX key for a 2560x1080 res I am getting Suuuuuuperrr widescreen with black borders top and bottom. The display temporarily turns off before coming back on as though it's going through a res change at starting the game up but my desktop res is set to 2560x1080. The monitor is connected via DP with freesync enabled, screen ratio is fixed to 'Wide'. Running fifa full screen.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: Update, just to note. When running FIFA 15 without an modifcations with the normal settings of 1080p at fullscreen it fills the screen but stretched. Almost like when starting FIFA 15 my monitor switches to a 1080p res stretched to fill and when running the one it oversamples and compresses down to that streched 1080p res, leaving black borders top and bottom... weird. Maybe something in the new Radeon app?

EDIT 2: Thought I might be missing something really obvious, such as being necessary to run in windows mode with Borderless Gaming. Running in windows mode resolves aspect ratio, but FIFA crashes with that set with Borderless Gaming.

Again, the above methods do not work, It is as if the last update does not recognize the addresses must be changed.


Example above method:
- In the SEARCH field, enter "39 8E E3 3F".

- (3440x1440). If you're using 3440x1440 21:9, enter "8E E3 18 40" into the REPLACE WITH field.

- (2560x1080). If you're using 2560x1080 21:9, enter "26 B4 17 40" into the REPLACE WITH field.

I appeal to the Gurus Forum, you tell us what the current values. Please aid need...

It appears EA has added new entries into fifa16.exe. These are the steps I used to get 21x9 working again on FIFA 16 after the most recent update. I tried to include the whole process for sake of completeness. I am not going to create a trainer or upload any files but this is how you can fix it yourself.

Prerequisites
1) Download HxD for your language from http://mh-nexus.de/en/downloads.php?product=HxD . I use the portable version so I do not have to install it. Then either extract it or install it depending on your version.
2) Download Cheat Engine from http://www.cheatengine.org and follow the instructions on the site to install it. Then follow the included tutorial to get used to how Cheat Engine functions.

Ultrawide HexEdit Fix for FIFA 16 (Do this once until another update from EA)
1) Go to your FIFA 16 install folder and make a backup copy of fifa16.exe
2) Run HxD.exe and open up fifa16.exe
3) Click on Search then Replace in the menu
4) Enter "39 8E E3 3F" in "Search for" and "8E E3 18 40" for 3440x1440 or "26 B4 17 40" for 2560x1080 in "Replace with"
5) Change "Datatype" to "Hex-values".
6) Under "Search direction" choose "All" and click "Replace all" (it replaced 3 entries on mine)
7) Save your changes and close HxD.
8) If you have issues with the fifa16.exe file delete it and use the backup you made in step 3

Ultrawide Cheat Engine Fix for FIFA 16 (Do this each time you want 21x9)
1) Run Fifa 16 and "Alt-tab" out of it
2) Run Cheat Engine
3) Click the "Open Process" and select "fifa16.exe"
4) Click "Open"
5) Check "Hex"
6) Enter "3FE38E39" in "Value" and click "First Scan"
7) Double Click "Adress 1433A7AC0"
8) Change Value "4018E38E" (3440X1440) or "4017B426" (2560x1080)
9) Switch back to FIFA 16 which is already running and "Alt-Enter" to return to fullscreen

This should get you playing again in 21x9.

i tried both methods and they seem not to work on the new fifa version sadly.

Dannyboy, I had to apply the HexEdit fix then the Cheat Engine fix in order for it to work on the latest version. Also in Cheat Engine make sure you use the new address "1433A7AC0". I hope that helps you or someone else. If not it was worth a try and I will reply back if I can think of anything else that might be the cause of the issue.

it's just bdjace method, that trainer generated by cheat engine itself without any advance programming, just google it --> create trainer using cheat engine

It's very easy. Just download the rar in my previous post, put the program on your desktop, play fifa, hit start game, press alt-enter at the same time, open my program and press the shortcut for your resolution, open fifa again and press alt-enter again.
