I am a fairly frequent visitor to these forums since buying an LG 34UM95 back in December 2014. I love the monitor but as everyone here knows some games are not optimized for its 21x9 aspect ratio. I created an account here so that I could post my success at hacking FIFA 15 to get it to display in 3440x1440 resolution in case it helps someone else. I have not tested this in any other 21x9 resolutions.

Let me be clear that this is a HexEditor hack and I did not come up with the concept. I used the process posted by jackfuste used to modify Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. You can find the post on the following thread http://www.wsgf.org/forums/viewtopic.ph ... 3&start=40. The only real difference to his process is to replace every instance of Hex Code "39 8E E3 3F" with "8E E3 18 40" in the fifa15.exe. Make sure to back up your fifa15.exe file before editing anything.

I have attached some screenshots for your enjoyment. The HUD elements look stretched but the game works and plays fantastic. Shame on you EA for not implementing this into the game. Perhaps FIFA 16 will support 21x9. Thank you to this great community for helping to make my Ultrawide gaming experience that much better.

Yes I noticed the same process works on the FIFA 16 demo which also has the black bars. Hopefully it will work with the full version as well.

These are the steps I used to get 21x9 working in both FIFA 15 and the FIFA 16 demo. For the FIFA 16 demo just replace fifa15.exe with fifa16_demo.exe. I am guessing the process works with the full version of FIFA 16 when it comes out.

1) Download HxD for your language from http://mh-nexus.de/en/downloads.php?product=HxD. I use the portable version so I do not have to install it.
2) Extract the program from the zip file.
3) Go to your FIFA 15 install folder and make a backup copy of fifa15.exe
4) Run HxD.exe and open up fifa15.exe
5) Click on Search then Replace in the menu
6) Enter "39 8E E3 3F" in "Search for" and "8E E3 18 40" for 3440x1440 or "26 B4 17 40" for 2560x1080 in "Replace with"
7) Change "Datatype" to "Hex-values" and click "Replace all"
8) Save your changes and you should be good to go.
9) If you have issues replace the fifa15.exe file with the backup you made in step 3

I can not understand why EA making Games without 21:9 Support. Ist so easy to enable.
So much Fifa Player have the same Problem black Bars on 21:9, and there have no idea how easy to Change to Wide Screen Support, Amazing...

No problem. Maybe we are missing something about how difficult it would be for developers to include 21x9 nativiely in their games but imho his makes FIFA so much better.

Sorry; I meant the code "to replace" for 1680x1050, not the code to search for.
In other words do you know the code for 16:10 monitors or the method to look for it?

Ok I edit and try to answer myself: the answer was in the link in first post in the metalg geartopic; just convert decimal aspect ratio (16:10) to hex value you get 3FCCCCCD and that should be the value to replace. Am I right?

EA said "we fixed 21:9 ratio problem" but they lied lol

I have not tried on FIFA 16 as it is not available to me yet but I will see if I can get it working once I have it. I have played FIFA 15 and online features work without issue for me. That said I can not guarantee that EA will not ban you for using this method.

bdjace, are u getting the game soon? or do u want us to provide you the exe when it's out to fix it?

ciccio, Sorry for the delay on answering. You would need to reverse the Hex code value "3F CC CC CD" like so "CD CC CC 3F". Find and replace "39 8E E3 3F" with "CD CC CC 3F" for 1680x1050. While I have not tested this resolution this is the process that I used. I hope it works for you.

Unfortunately I have confirmed that this process does not work on the full version of FIFA 16. I am very disappointed with EA to say the least at this point. FIFA 15 greatly benefits from 21x9 IMHO. EA I want to "play beautiful" but you are preventing me.

is there a specific reason why this would work on the FIFA 16 DEMO and not the full game? can you explain a little bit technically.

Would it be possible for us to use the demo exe file and rename it to fifa 16 ......

I tried renaming the demo file and it was a no go. I also tried looking for other Hex entries in the exe that might be the cause. There were 2 additional entries in the demo that were replaced that are missing in the full version. It is as if they purposely removed them so we could not do 21x9. I have no idea where to start looking now. I will keep everyone posted if I find another solution but it is not looking good. The best thing people can do that have a 21x9 screen that really want this feature is to return or not buy the game and inform EA of the desire for 21x9 support.

Hy mate, how did you get that code? I would need one for the resolution 4240 x 1080 ( a 2560x1080 and a 1680x1080 monitor) Can someone help me ? Thanks

beris10, While this does not take into account any bezel correction 4240 / 1080 = 3.925925925925926. This is Hex code "40 7B 42 5F" which you would reverse and get "5F 42 7B 40". So you would replace every instance of "39 8E E3 3F" with "5F 42 7B 40" to get it to work in FIFA 15 using this process. I have no way to confirm that this will work for you but give it a try. Just remember to backup you fifa15.exe file. Good luck.
