Using a 3440x1440 monitor. Tried out Ground Zeroes, but I can't navigate menus, everything is like over expanded. Cutscenes are also in 16:9. Kind of a mess. Any chance of a fix?

Thank you very much for this fix! I only recently purchased GZ for PC last week, played it on PS4 back when it first came out. The lack of 21:9 support frustrated me and I was relying on an FoV mod prior to this.

I hope you will be able to fix The Phantom Pain if it doesn't support these aspect ratios. The only thing to make this better would be a HUD fix so it is aligned towards the edge of the screen but I'm not complaining much.

Sorry. I'm a newb... but how do I use the files from Razed's post to enable 21:9 support?

And thanks for Razed's post and thanks in advance for everyone's help.

Is this a problem in my end???

The game is almost unplayable, because the lens flare on light sources are huge, to the point where you cant really see anything but white spots where lights are supposed to be. Going back to the normal executable and playing in 1080p doesnt show this problem.

Am I supposed to turn something off maybe?

Thanks

Uhh, why would you use Razed's link? He mentioned that he was using a fov fix prior to the one posted by Jackfuste.
Use Jackfuste's modified exes and call it a day.

As far as the lense flare issue, not sure but I'm sure someone will look into it =)

0Maybe you guys can share how the fix works, I think the problem is that my setup is not exactly the normal ratio of 3*16:9 screens, I have a 21:9 screen in the middle and 2*16:9 screens outside.

With Flawless Widescreen I have no problems because it takes into account the resolution of my desktop, im guessing this fix for MGS GZ has the aspect ratio hardcoded for 3*16:9 screens.

I would really appreciate any help.

I wasn't aware that there were non-steam versions. The fix works just fine on my steam copy.

He's probably thinking about the fact that the .exe is essentially a modified crack version.
So I guess steam saves doesn't get synced, and achievements doesn't work. (Though I haven't tried it yet, I'm about to)

You can still at least use the same save files.

The save files of Ground Zeroes are in <Steam-folder>\userdata\<user-id>\311340\remote\. The modified exe will create a new folder under \<user-id>, in which you can copy all the save files from 311340 et voilà.

I copied the fix files over, but I still can't get it to work on 5760x1080 surround. I covers about 2/3 of the screen and the rest are black bars on left & right. If I select my resolution 5892x1080, it stretches the view so the top & bottom is cut off. Is the fix tuned to a particular resolution? Like 3440x1440 or something less than 3x1 surround, or is it supposed to work across all resolutions? I put off buying this game for months until there was a fix available, but I haven't got this one working correctly yet. Using nvidia surround fix. Any tips are much appreciated.

Now we need a MGSV: TPP exe. That would be amazing if you could do it, Jackfuste. Thanks for your time.

btw the ground zeroes fix worked great, but I had two issues. 1. my saves were deleted and 2. steam achievements didn't unlock.

Anyone else had that issue?

yes, as it is based on a crack from codex if i remember right, but you can use the saves they are just located somewhere else. I think he used this because of the DRM which does not allow modifications. but thats, just a guess

The default directory should be \Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes\

Is this fix for the Steam version still working for people? When I try to start it, three copies of the .exe show up in the task manager and Steam crashes before the game can even start. For some reason, I can't even end the processes in the task manager.

Yes, 3440x1440 and Surround still working here (Win7). Apparently even the original exe needs a doppelgänger in Task manager, but they all vanish on game quit or can be terminated manually; and Steam never flinches.
Must be something on your end... Maybe an overzealous antivirus (or, well, a virus) ?

Thanks for the tip scav, I hadn't thought to try disabling my anti-virus. Luckily I can set it to ignore the game folder so I can keep it on.
