Well here it is... 3D Surround Gaming After spending more than a week to make this possible it's finally live!!!! As it is said on the website is still a prototype as I am still experimenting various things. WHY THIS... ? ... Because of the lack of content ! There isn't any website to stream 3D Videos in Surround resolutions...That's right!!! SURROUND resolutions in stereoscopic 3D, mainly since it is considered a "niche" market and it also requires a lot of storage space to "hold" a video. For the last couple of weeks I have tried everything: - YouTube support 3D Videos up to 720p in Full resolution Stereo3D. - YouTube's re-encoding sometimes provides poor results. - YouTube cannot process resolutions higher than 4096 and therefore no 3D Surround. - 3DVisionLive offers support for maximum 1Gb filesize, 5 minutes length and the usual 720p resolution. - I have tried a couple of other websites with no success to load and view even a single monitor 3D Video. Supported view modes - Single Monitor 2D: Fit whole image to screen or display only the center screen (which is what you would normally see when playing on a single monitor) - Single Monitor Stereo3D using 3D Vision: Fit whole image to screen or display only the center screen (which is what you would normally see when playing on a single monitor) - Multi-monitor 2D: by pressing F11 and setting the browser fullscreen - Multi-monitor Stereo3D - nVidia 3D Vision Surrond: By pressing F11 and setting the browser fullscreen while using Firefox) Things to consider a.k.a Limitations - Don't attempt to view the videos using a non broadband connection. (playback will suffer from stuttering.) - A good broadband is required for this. - Don't use Internet Explorer as it does not support HTML5 video playback properly. Use Chrome for 2D playback or Firefox for 3D Playback (as per nVidia specifications) The website is hosted on a "shared" Bluehost server. Video Playback might also stutter due to server load at peak times. Putting the video on "Pause" for a while might help with in providing a better playback experience. So...try it and let me know what you think:) Currently only one video is present for Metro - Last Light, recorded in 3D Vision Surround. Best Regards, Helifax |

Updates: - Videos can now be displayed in Surround 2D on one monitor (fit to screen mode) - It can also be seen in true Surround/Eyefinity resolution by putting the browser in FullScreen on a setup with 3 screens. - Whole 3D surround resolution can be seen on one screen with 3D Vision (fit to screen mode) - 3D Surround can be seen at native resolution putting the browser in FullScreen on a setup with 3 3D screens and 3D Vision support. - Support for displaying only the center Screen has been maintained for both 2D and 3D. - Added various other information points (Like how many videos are in the playlist, etc) The plan would be to try to provide more videos like these in terms of quality/resolutions. I am looking forward for any feedback you can give me and I really hope you enjoy the website as much as I enjoyed creating it and most importantly sharing videos (even if at the moment only 1 exists). Awesome! Great idea! But i had a few problems with the Player. using Firefox 21 and win7. You cant seek by directly clicking into the bar. you have to pull it to i.e 2:45 to get it starting from there. And when i switch from Triple Monitor to "Center monitor view" (by unchecking the box ^^ ) the video pauses.... maybe i should have waited for more than 10 seconds.... but when i pressed the pause button (yes not play! pause) it worked without lag (and still showed pause button!) But the quality is not yet 5760*1080 is it ? By searching for video hosters, did you find any that support 5760*1080 resolution in 2D ? |

Yes I am aware of some issues in Firefox...I am looking to see why this happens actually...as I dont get this problem in Chrome... (The seek bar.) When you change the view the Buffering part should appear... and playback should resume automatically... I didn't see this one yet hehehe:))) The video was originally 7968x800 (3984(left)x3984(right)x800 ).. For testing purposes I scaled to half (was having some issues with 3D rendering) which I just fixed. So I will re-load the movie at the original captured resolution from the game. Technically I can upload videos of 10kx10k or any size. the problem is streaming it. As you probably saw, I split the movie into 4 parts to feed it faster to different persons. Chances are more people are watching in the same time and now this will not be the same file;)) I still don't know if I should keep this...or just feed one big file. By big I mean around 2gb file. The answer is no, 4096 was the biggest one I could find.. This is even funny... I used Hybrid Front-End to convert the video (for alot of technical reasons which I dont get into) and even the front end was capped at 4096:)) The developer was very nice and provided an updated version for me in just a couple of hours;)) This video is encoded with the "non-fixed" version I will probably upload full resolution videos now ...that means 7968x800 and 10460x1050 Since I render the full 3D video file. I just hide one "eye" in 2D. Any other feedback is highly appreciated:) |

Updates I have updated Metro Last Light 3D Surround movie clip and now it is displayed at full side-by-side resolution (Total Resolution: 7968x800; Per Eye Resolution: 3984x800). Technically it should provide double the resolution on width and twice the quality. Let me know if you experience any problems playing the movies of if you find the quality good /bad.
