This is massive Helifax, thanks for looking into it for us, I love the game but have been putting off finishing it for it is jacked up in surround.

Am looking forward to your fix :rockout: , thanks.

Probably the reason why it wasn't fixed in the past was because it is so broken, so I commend you for taking on the project! I never actually played 1 or 2 on PC, so it would be good to see this work.

This fix will work for Eyefinity too right?

I see no reason why it wouldn't work, unless the engine behaves a bit different on AMD drivers...but I doubt this is the case. One way to find out I guess;))

Yes, I haven't played bio1 or bio2 at all..somehow I missed it when they released and I kept saying I will :)))) I was "amazed" to see the Eyefinity/Surround support they "officially" introduced in patch 1.2 (that is highly mediated on the web). Besides kinda fixing the main FOV everything else was kinda broken:))))

Once my project is over, I plan to release it (along other 2 games including Dragon Age 2 and SW Academy - have the fix from thelolotov for almost half a year now:)) )

Great news, I suffered through the quirks (having no quest arrow was the worst) and completed the game in triplewide, but after recently finishing Bioshock Infinite, I have restarted Bioshock 1, and plan to then redo Bioshock 2.

I think Bioshock 1 is still my favorite as I have a sense of wonder and amazement (and some fear!) still from when I first played it, one of the great games that manages to make me turn tail and run when I am out of ammo and health and something is crawling on the ceiling after me! Infinite was very good, but never really challenged me or had the sense of dread when going up against a Big Daddy.

I managed to finish the plugin.
And everything works as expected and as described above;))

Remember to use it with the latest version of WideScreen Fixer. As for the game, I have it from Steam but I patched to the latest version via GFWL (Games for Windows Live) so I expect the fix to work on any ORIGINAL version patched to 1.5.0.019

If you have any problems let me know:)

Use the plugin attached in this post.

Best Regards,
Helifax

Thanks very much, helifax! I've always meant to get around to Bioshock 2 and now I've got a good reason to give it a go.

I'm trying to use Helifax' .dll file but I don't know what to do with it. Can anybody help? I'm still new to the world of triple monitors.

I think we have to put the .dll file in the Plugins section of where you put the Widescreen Fixer folder

however the fix is not working for me :(

i get a Windows Forms Error message

i put it as an attachment, if anyone can help me out with this error thatd be great! :rockout:

You get this error every time? Are you using the latest version of WSF? Do you have any anti-virus thing running in the background (although it shouldn't matter).

Basically what that error says, is that it cannot find the process with that PID which is weird...since the PID is given by the OS...

Hey helifax, this is another one of the games that's been updated to remove Games for Windows Live since it's shutting down. So, it's using a different EXE as of around 10/4/2013. Could that be causing PID errors? I haven't tested on my own to see if it's working for me or not, but will give it a try this afternoon and see if it properly detects the new EXE or not in the current version of Widescreen Fixer.

Updated the plugin to support 21:9 Aspect Ratios now.
The plugin works with BioShock 2 from Steam ( I have no idea if there are other versions around)

You can download the latest version from 3D Surround Gallery -> My WSF MODS

OK, I just realized that this plugin doesn't play nice with NVIDIA beta drivers. Because as soon as I downgraded to the latest stable driver, it started working all of a sudden. It's working absolutely PERFECT now! Sorry I ever doubted you, man. :onethumb:

Not a problem;)) I am also using the latest betas, I don't have any weird resolution issues like you, but instead 3D Vision is acting very weird. Also sometimes when I launch a game Windows Explorer just crashes...-_- and crap like this.... So yeah.. definitely bugged drivers.
I will also revert my drivers just didn't had the time to do it ..yet..lol
:))

Great job! Thank you so very much!
The plugin works great with the most recent Steam version of the game (downloaded it today).

I saw a WIP on your website of the exact same mod for the first BioShock. Any chance we get a sneak peek and get to try it out? ;) It would be great to play BioShock 1 before 2 again!
