My machine is a Core i5 3.4GHZ, 16GB Ram, Single GTX 780.

I have two of the Korean X-Star DP2710 IPS monitors running at 5120x1440 and it's awesome for general productivity but gaming on this setup is frustrating because the center bezel causes me to go cross-eyed when playing games.

I'm not sure I have space for a third X-Star monitor, and from what I've read they aren't good for gaming.

I'm looking at what I should do to improve the monitor setup. I do design for a living and do mid-to-high end gaming in my free time. (Doesn't need to be ultra++ settings, mostly stuff like WoW and Diablo - will look to get a Pascal card when they come out.)

What's the best bang for my buck?

I'm open to a multi-monitor setup, or a single ultra-wide monitor.

Was looking at the Dell U3415W initially - would be open to any thoughts. :onethumb:

I run a large multi-monitor setup and I've been thinking of going one large 4K monitor. Specifically the 49" Wasabi Mango with Freesync. I'm thinking that I can utilize 3840x2160 in desktop and run 3840x1620 in game for ultra-widescreen gaming.

It will be easier for my aging videocard (similar to yours in power actually) and maybe make my setup less complicated. Not sure though. I do really like my 4x30"rs.

I love 34" ultrawide, and prefer it over triple. I've been using the Dell for a while and really like it.

It's weird to associate Dell with the best bang for your buck  but yeah, any 34" 3440x1440 panel should do.

Another option would be 4K on the cheap, I like my BDM4065UC and the endless possibilities of custom resolutions (3840x1600 FTW)... but I don't do design and I prefer 3x24" Surround for gaming anyway. Since you're used to dual-widescreen, going Ultrawide might be a safer bet.
