Hello WSGF,
I recently received my long awaited UltraWide monitor, the LG 29UM65. So far, I'm very pleased, although I would really like to figure out why I can't use DisplayPort with my new monitor. Currently I'm using an HDMI cable for the connection to my monitor, no problems at all. But When I connect it via a DisplayPort, it just gives me the message, "No Signal". Any fixes out there?

Have you validated that the cable and DP output on the card work with another monitor? If so, it looks like you had a bad monitor. What GPU do you have?

Nope, I don't have another monitor with DisplayPort input. I have a GTX 770.

You're kind of at an em-pass on where the problem lies. It could be on the output of the card, or the input of the display. I would suggest getting an HDMI > DP cable, and trying that.

It will mean a bit of expense (the cable) and time (testing) on you part. However, it will help you pinpoint which component is faulty.

Does the DP output of the card show anything during BIOS POST?

I'm just gonna use my HDMI cable I guess. The DP cable I got was not validated, it had an extra pin with power, which screws up the signal apparently.
