My current system is a silver Apple 30" cinema display running 2560 x 1600 and a 17" generic LCD serunning 1280 x 1024 as a secondary.
Video card Nvidia 8500GT 512mb
Processor AMD Dual core 64 bit 6000+
4 gigs ram
xp 64 bit edition

I do posters and other graphic design for a living. I mostly use Adobe products. I also might like to play combat flight simulator 3 and maybe some car racing games. I would like to upgrade my system soon. Here is what I am planning:
MB: Asus M5A88-M http://www.portatech.com/catalog/option.asp?id=33927

Processor: AMD FX8350 8 core
Ram: 16 gigs
Windows 7
I want a smaller computer case. Probably will end up with LIAN LI PC-V355A Silver Aluminum MicroATX Mini Tower.

I would like to carefully purchase two more used 30" Silver Cinema Displays and set up a three monitor set up.
Is it possible to set up a four monitor setup with monitor in the middle, two on the sides and a forth monitor above the middle one? So kind of an upside T Shape. I am hoping I can open up my adobe illustrator to stretch up vertically up the middle two. Then I can put other apps on the side screens. Or at other times, I could stratch out my illustrator horizontally accross the bottom three screens and use the top one for other apps.

My question is, what video card do you recommend I get for running three or four monitors each running at 2560 x 1600?

Any other recommendations? My preferred monitor can only be bought used, is discontinued, and I only like it because of the aluminium enclosure. The new Apple monitors are black. And I am a PC user. I just don't like the plastic look.

Thanks

HD 7970 GHz or GTX680. better 690 or Crossfire/SLI if you want 60fps in good quality.

This + 1, I run a single 7970 GHz edition (7970 Lightning to be specific) and it works very well at 2560x1600.
The card I picked up can run 6 monitors (4miniDP and 2 Single-Link DVI). For my 30"rs I use miniDp->Dual Link DVI adapters.
