| Post subject: | Best Monitor For Radeon 7850 OC |
Hi everybody! :) I would be very grateful if you could help me choosing the best monitor to get the most out of my Radeon 7850 OC. I'm interested in Dell U2312HM, but I'm not totally sure because its black depth and contrast ratio doesn't seem to be as good as expected. On the other hand, although Dell U2412M fixes those issues, it has too much high input delay for gaming... I've also checked out Asus ML239H, but I'm not sure if Asus can compete with Dell... I've found some bad opinions about Asus... What do you think? Do you have any other suggestion? Or do encourage me to buy one of those two? :O Thanks in advance! ;) |

Hi everybody! :) The 2412M doesn't have high input lag. Some measured it at 10ms, which is less than 1 frame at 60Hz. It makes a good gaming screen used alone or with 3 :P Just it has an aggressive anti-glare coating, so if you are using it for something other than gaming, you might find it annoying. Have you looked at some of the 120Hz TN panels, if you are only using it for gaming? You will get more fluid motion, and you open yourself to a world of screen coatings. Like the Samsung S23A750D for example? |

What's the problem with an aggressive anti-glare coating? I thought it was a good point... :P Samsung S23A750D it's too much expensive for my budget (<300€) and I don't need 3D.... Considering that angle of view didn't matter because I could view it head on... which panels would have a better overall color quality (not only black depth, but also red, green, blue, etc...), TN or IPS? In my preferences, i would put color & image quality the first, response delay the second (but I'm not a hardcore gamer, maybe I'm not able to notice the delay), and then the rest of characteristics. Thanks a lot for your help! ;) |

| Post subject: | The aggressive anti-glare |
The aggressive anti-glare gives the panel a tendency to make black text on white background look grainy and indistinct. Some people find this more of an issue than others. I can say like this, my GFs U2211 has anti-glare, my NEC is glossy, I prefer my NEC to the Dell, but I could probably live with the Dell. The point of the 3D monitors is the 120Hz refresh rate, not just 3D :P But if it is out of budget, no worries. IPS has best viewing angles and colour accuracy. TN has best motion. Considering what you said last, the U2412M should be perfect :) I promise you, you will not notice the 10ms input lag. |
