Post subject:  3xProjectors vs 3xmonitors

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I'm a simracer. One year ago I saw video on youtube how somebody was playing in iRacing with triple projectors setup and I was amazed how it looks. Then I've bought 3 720p projectors and it was ok but not enough quality for me. I've started thinking about 3 1080p setup.

Now I got 2 Panasonic PT-AE4000 and I'm faced with a choice to buy 3rd projector (because I've never thought about input lag and response time but as it turned out it's very important for sim racing).
May be sell projectors and buy 3x27" 120Hz with low input lag and response time and it would be better for performance? What you can advise for me?

What graphics cards are you using? Powering 3x1080p at 120Hz can be tricky.

I personally would say Samsung S27A950D screen, has DVI that is capable of 120Hz, which the 750D model does not. It also has DP, I think you should be covered for both nV and AMD hardware in that case. However, if AMD hardware would cause tearing, I cannot say.

I think personally 3 projects would be a more seemless experience, no bezels to get in the way etc.

Two of Nvidia GTX480. With one 1080p projector FPS all time above 150-200.
I've already tryed 3 projectors setup with curved screen with NTHUsim software but it is only for games not for windows and with curved screen it was very bad with browsing and etc. That's why I'm using flat screen for my projector or wall :)

What you think about plazma or led tv 46-55''? I'm worry about input lag.

Yeah input lag can be a problem. Seems to be if you turn off the 120Hz modes on the LCDs, and generally have the basic panel, or plasma panel, you get less input lag. Check out AVSforums, I believe there is a thread there listing input lag on some modern LCD/ plasma TV's!
