| Post subject: | New monitor help |
Hi guys n girls, Looking to get a new gaming monitor, now monitors after stumbling across this fine forum. Originally had my heart set on the Dell U2711 or the U3011 for the great resolution but I'm concerned about the response time as I'm into FPS's such as BFBC2.(spend way too much time on that lol) Now I'm thinking of a triple setup, so I have a few questions if u guys have the time. 1. Does any1 have the Dell ultrasharp monitors and are they any good for FPS's ?? 2. Confused about multi monitors on SLI. Does 2 way SLI support 3 screens? as i've read they only support 1,2 or 4. 3. If I do decide to go 3way (cough) can u guys recomend a good monitor, was thinkin around 24in or more if my GPU's can handle it. 4. is 120Hz ok for a triple head setup or do u stick with 60Hz. Any input or idears would be greatly appriciated My Sys specs CPU - i7-860 @ 4.2Ghz GPU - EVGA GTX480SC 2way SLI MEM - 8GB GSkill RIPJAW F3-16000-CL9D DDR3-2000 MOBO - GIGABYTE P55A-UD5 PSU - CORSAIR AX1200 CASE -CORSAIR 800D COOLING - CORSAIR H70 OS - WIN7 64BIT |

:welcome 1. Not me... 2. Yes, your 2-way SLI supports Nv Surround (i.e 3 screens). Connections: two monitors on primary card, third monitor on secondary card. 3. Apparently only very high Surround resolutions really take advantage of 3-way SLI, even at the highest settings. Think 3x 30". And then you need 2GB+ cards. Cough indeed. 4. Yes, you can do 2D Surround at 120 Hz. Of all the games I've tried so far only Splinter Cell Conviction crashes on me everytime I combine Surround + 120 Hz, not sure why. |
