Last weekend I was shopping for gear in Hong Kong at the Golden Arcade electronics center. I went to the Dell dealer and asked about the U2410 Ultra Sharp. The sales rep said the Dell U2410 is discontinued in Hong Kong, which is surprising and disappointing.

I looked at several of Dell's international websites to see if the U2410 is available, and I found some interesing results:

USA - The U2410 is readily available: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/sna.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~topic=ultrasharp_monitor

UK - The U2410 is readily available: http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/category.aspx?c=uk&category_id=4009&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&s=dhs

Singapore - The other Ultra Sharp Dell monitor sizes are readily available, but "Please Call For Latest Price" is listed for the U2410:
http://accessories.ap.dell.com/sna/sna.aspx?c=sg&cs=sgdhs1&l=en&s=dhs&~topic=ultrasharp_monitor&~ck=anavml

Hong Kong - The U2410 isn't even mentioned; only 27" and 30" monitors are readily available: http://accessories.ap.dell.com/sna/sna.aspx?c=hk&cs=hkdhs1&l=en&s=dhs&~topic=ultrasharp_monitor

The U2410 is my monitor of choice and I noticed several other WSGF members prefer and highly recommend the U2410.

I wrote in Paradigm Shifter’s thread, http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=20624,

I much prefer 3 x 16:10 and the increased vertical pixels for gaming and when using my setup as a workstation. Documents, photos, spreadsheets, and telemetry display much better using the extra vertical screen space. Immersion is also better with more pixels filling my vertical field of view.

The 24-inch 1920x1200 monitor size and price hit the sweet spot for my monitor preference.

I hope the U2410 remains available in the USA and I wish it was still available in the Asia-Pacific region.

Does anyone have more info on the U2410?

I chatted with Dell Singapore thru the Dell website:

You are now being connected to an agent. Thank you for using Dell Chat
Connected with Leon_Ng
Welcome to Dell Sales Chat, your total solution for computer systems and peripherals. My name is Leon_Ng. I will be your personal sales agent today. How can I help you?
Leon_Ng: Hi Sir
for the said model - we are having the Global part shortage

phantom: Hello.

Leon_Ng: therefore we are not able to quote and advise the price at this moment
Sorry for the inconvenience cause to you

phantom: Is the monitor discontinued?

Leon_Ng: For now - there is not information from our marketing.
as for now - we are facing the serious shortage in this model

phantom: ok. Hopefully it is due to high demand and not discontinued

Leon_Ng: Yes :)

phantom: I was shopping in Hong Kong. Golden Arcade, 2nd Floor. In the Del store there were two U2410s on display. The Dell representative in the shop told me the U2410 is discontinued in Hong Kong
this was last Sunday, 21 Nov. Please be advised.

Leon_Ng: I cannot advise from the Hong Kong site we are handling for malaysia and singapore

phantom: I understand. Is the U2410 avbl. in Malaysia?

And then we were disconnected when the internet connection was interrupted.
