ive been saving my money like crazy and then AMD came out with eyefinity. note i own th2g analog with 3x19" samsung monitors

my new setup was going to be:
TH2G (digital)
3x 22" samsung 2233rz 3d Monitors
and the nvidia 3d glasses monitor mount for 3x monitors

which is all so much money

but now AMD has eyefinity
do you think support for games under eyefinity will make my Matrox incompatible, ahh im really unsure now

Support for using three monitors depends on the game and not on the TH2go or Eyefinity. I would suggest you go the Eyefinity route as you will have the same functionality of the TH2go plus you have a new GPU.

I'm in the EXACT same boat...

Wast just about done ordering all my parts for my new system,3 24" displays, TH2Go Digital, GTX285 SLI, etc..and THEN I realize Eyefinity is coming...

I changed my direction, returned the TH2Go, and now have 2 Radeon 5850s to crossfire (which I realize now does NOT support Eyefinity IN Crossfire, only single card for now, OTHER than the 5970, which I may be switching to if I can get my grubby hands on one!).

SO...I feel your pain!

Good luck, hope it helps! :rockout

but of course that would sacrifice my 3d setup because it is nvidia gfx only, it was the jewel of the setup. maybe its not worth the cost:(

Yeah, same issue here.. I was DEAD set on a 3 way SLI GTX285 setup...but I decided to go Eyefinity, hence my search for the "Holy Grail", the 5970.

Now if only ATI could get those Eyefinity/Crossfire drivers working... :?

As far as I can tell, the Crossfire drivers are working according to the Dell Alienware Tech Specialist that helped me get my Eyefinity working on the desktop I just bought. Two HD 5870's with Crossfire enabled is working just fine. If anyone knows how to set it so that program windows snap to the borders of the screen they are opened in though, please enlighten me. We couldn't figure that one out.

VERY interesting...although my 5850s are up "on the bay" as I happened on a 5970.

nope it cant be done TH2G supplies each monitor with a single DVI link while those samsung monitors require Dual DVI, in other words i need an eyefinity substitute from nvidia. or a 3d vision substitue from ATI, or just not have a surround setup :(

well im going to cry in the corner now

:!: 3D Vision in Surround resolutions is not possible afaik, and is NOT a good idea at the moment anyway.
3DV is currently a framerate killer that often requires you to disable some eye candy like motion blur or shadow details. It does not improve immersion on any setup - it's a different kind of immersion with specific requirements and limitations. At this time it is safe to say that 3DV is limited to 1680x1050. It's exciting stuff for the years to come but buying three 3DVision displays today would be nothing more than wasted money : can't use them all together today, more/better compatible panels when 'surround 3DV' becomes possible (if ever).

With a nvidia cards + TripleHead you can still build a multi-purpose "3DVision OR surround" setup with a 3DV center monitor and two regular 24" panels. So you can play 3DV games on the center screen OR play in surround.

If hi-res surround is more important to you than 3DV capabilities and you can afford at least one DisplayPort panel, go for Eyefinity.
