Hey! I have a G1 (blue) G15, its started cutting out, sometimes the LCD stops working (backlight stays on but text disappears), sometimes the whole thing turns off and then restarts itself (nice to happen in the middle of a game right?) ever since i tweaked around with the voltage rails on the PSU and set them properly. I tried moving the 5v rail back (away from 5.00v under load) and the problem didnt go away, so I imagine its been hiding a problem for a while.

Long and short of it is, I want a new keyboard (not advice about fixing the problem I have). It's 3 years old, my GF doesnt like that it isnt in Swedish layout and its quite huge!!!

Now!

1) I don't need "macro keys". the g15 has g1>g12 = f1-f12. I can therefore bind stuff to g11, g12 and hit them with little finger on the left hand. Works well for me (being WoW and some FPS player atm).

2) I don't need the screen. I never install the drivers, 1000Hz would be useful, although I feel this is far more important for the mouse than it is the keyboard.

3) Windows Disable key is a must, as are media keys and volume keys.

4) Not bothered about the colour of the backlight, but one would be useful.

I wouldnt mind a USB2.0 hub integrated, but doesnt need a mic/ hp jack.

I'm leaning towards a new G2 G15 as it looks quite smart and I know it works fine without the drivers, maybe a Razor KB, not quite sure if I want to have the drivers on though. Maybe the G110 from logitech is good, if a little expensive!

Any input is welcome, but the most important thing to me is:

No Laptop style buttons, got to be full size KB (but compact, i dont want 20000 macro buttons on one side). Gotta be good quality!

thanks ye!

Razer Lycosa?

Got one myself and it is very good. No dedicated macro keys though, but you can assign a macro to any key. Will need to use drivers for that though.

Windows key can be disabled by touching the razer logo and the windows key.

Razer Tarantula has dedicted macro keys, which might suit you for MMO's.

Keys are flatter than most keyboards but I wouldn't say they are like a laptops, somewhere in the middle. Might not be your thing.

You don't really need a gaming keyboard if you don't want an LCD screen or hardware macros (there's software macros aka AutoHotKey).. unless you just want to drop $100 because you feel like it.

I mean I guess I see the point of something like a zBoard if you are terrible at remembering configs, but most people here aren't like that.

its mainly just the windows key, i guess i could just prize it up with a screwdriver and then there is no chance of pressing it.

other than that, the anti ghosting, sometimes i am pressing W A and maybe shift and then i expect to be able to keybind so shift and 1 or 2, and have no problems with that.

would hate to go to a officey keyboard and then be stuck having to press like 2/3 buttons max at a time. I'm leaning towards a G15 G2 or a G110, but they are so bloody expensive. Mine cost £45 posted originally, the G15 is nearer £60 + postage, and its best part of £80 in Sweden :( /cry
