The other day as I was browsing Newegg I saw this monitor

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001317

My first reaction was holy S$*t that is a high resolution. Then a second glance I was wondering how this is for gaming. Do any games support this res? Is it a good monitor?

I would be upgrading from this:

Never heard of it. It is a 16:9 monitor, and it has 6.7% more pixels than 1920x1080. Would give some more density in Windows apps, but you may run into problems with games not supporting that native resolution. You may end up scaling 1920x1080 to fill this.

Do you think there would be any problem just changing the config file to that res?

Depends on the game. You can look through the game list to see which ones may have that option. Any game in particular you're worried about?

Ive seen a few people here say that they have that monitor. Basically your fine for anything that supports any desktop resolution.

Well one could argue that a lot of games can be res tweaked via an ini or config file, then again a lot of lazily made ports now don't have such options. It will be interesting to see if more games start natively supporting this res.
