Hi there, got a question - what do you think about this card? Is it good enough for gaming or no? Thanks for any answers! |

This forum thread lists that card as mid-range. I don't have any first-hand experience with notebook video cards, though. |

If its anything like the 8300/7300 then...well, it will run games...and okay for a laptop, but don't expect nice features like AA or HDR. |

What about overclocking it? Would it increase any performance as well? Would it get damaged in any way for overclocking it? How do you overclock? Here I also found - http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-9300M-GS.9452.0.html |

I've only done modest overclocking on desktop boards, never with a laptop. Based on the specs you found in that link, I don't think overclocking would help all that much since the stock speeds are decent. Also, I think any significant overlocking in a notebook could lead to severe heat problems, given the inherent limitations of cooling solutions in that form factor. The card's real weak points are its limited shader pipelines (eight) and memory bus (64 bit), ouch! If you like to run games at high quality settings then take that article at its word: anything newer than HL2 or Farcry will suffer tremendously. |

Ok thanks, would it run Fifa 09 well though? Here I found the specs of that game - http://ea-fifa09.blogspot.com/2008/09/fifa-09-pc-system-requirements.html EDIT - It appears that this kind of card must be in between 9400GT and 8500GT, http://www.nvidia.com/object/graphics_cards_buy_now.html right? Thanks again for any help. |

I'd put it much closer to the 8500GT than the 9400. Those FIFA specs are not very informative, and I've never played a FIFA game on my computer, so I can't say how well it will run. |

I guess that I can give a try and see how the games work (especially on medium settings, definitely not high though) and if I don't like it, I can always bring it back and get my money back, right? So... Or would that be possible to ask a company to get me a different card, even that there is no choose option for the different card... |
