hi i have a annoying problem my is lagging while iam on the desktop when i move it around its like the mouse is lagging behind ... think of a ingame mouse @ ~20fps when i run programs like firefox, miranda or anything else it gets worse ive tried anything from shutting down non essential services, different gfx drivers, USB refreshrate, different OS (win xp prof 32bit/64bit), clocking down ram, removing ram dimms, removing hdds, to even different GFX cards (7600gt, 2x6600gt, 5900xt)... nothing seems to work ... only one thing - when i plug in the GF5900XT (AGP) it works, the mouse is almost not lagging or anything - well the computer is still reacting funny in some cases but the most annoying thing is the mouse lag and the fact that i need to use the old gf5900xt (the 7600gt is old too but still better...) does anyone have a solution or an idea? :/ (and its not the mouse cause it was working before i had to reinstall windows) my sys: Athlon 64 3000+ 1,5gb DDR400 RAM ASUS K8V SE Deluxe 2 IDE HDDs (one Samsung(prim master) 180GB one Excelstor 80GB) MSI 7600GT 512MB AGP 8x Leadtek 6600GT 128MB AGP 8x Pixelview 6600GT 128MB AGP 8x MSI 5900XT 128MB AGP 8x plz help :/ |

Have you tried a different USB port (assuming it's a USB mouse)? What type of mouse is it? If it's analog, have you cleaned the ball? Tried different surfaces? |

if its wireless. Try another mouse. It could be a driver conflict or an I/O error. |

its a cable mouse, its optical, its usb, different port doesnt affect it, different surface doesnt matter, because (ive tried it and!) as i said with the gf5900xt it works fine - only the 'better' gfx cards dont work funny is with the omega drivers the 7600gt worked more or less but then it failed after a forced reinstall of windows -.- |

Is the cable shielded? Is your case or GFX card shielded? |

So, this mouse lag only begins after a Windows reinstallation? It was not there before and it begins after? No hardware or software change? Have you tried to adjust the mouse settings under Mouse in the Windows Control Panel? Also try these to see if they help: Go to nVidia Control Panel, 3D Settings-->Manage 3D Settings-->Global Settings 1) Maximum pre-rendered frames: lower this number gradually, even down to 0 2) Multi-display/mixed GPU acceleration: change from Multiple display peformance mode to Single display performance mode (assuming you are not using more than 1 monitor) |
