Anyone heard of this one ? It's pretty cheap... It's IPS (LG panel), has only a DVI connector and no OSD, that's all I know. Never considered buying that sort of monitor until I stumbled upon this incredible price : 800€ here in France, that's half the price of other 30" panels !!! |

Never heard of it to be honest, so I got intrigued and checked it a bit. From what I see, it can be comparable to the Dell 3007WFP. I don't know if they use the agressive anti-glare coating Dell uses on those screens, but it should be about the same or even better. You might have some problems with support if to compare with Dell, so you should be careful where you buy it. :) |

Doing some more research there are actually other 30" panels with better features for the same kind of prices, like the HP3065 (1000€) for instance... Might be a wiser choice. Too bad there are so few head-to-head comparison reviews of those big expensive screens :( |

Well the prices kinda beg the question if they really are for the masses. If more games supported 2560x1600 and single card solutions could handle that res with any game, perhaps they'd be selling well enough to not be dropping well below what they originally were priced at. HDTVs are much more commonly being used as displays than 30 inch monitors are. |

Just found the review I was looking for. A french fellow posted his feedback after a couple months with two (actually five : he returned bad units three times) of those cheap 30" panels. I'll translate it here when I get the time. In a nutshell : expect dead pixels, bad colors, heterogeneous lighting, high power consumption and heat - but for non-imaging, non-gaming use it can be a good bargain. Well, I guess this Daewoo Sensy 30KAL is not for me then. Better get used to the idea of spending at least 1000~1200€ for those 2560x1600 pixels of gaming bliss... |

bad units three times Well, I suppose that's why it's cheap. |

Keep in mind that you can't necessarily assume a cheaper monitor = more dead pixels though. It usually depends on what panel they're using. For instance the Doublesight DS-263N has just the "industry standard" pixel policy, which many manufacturers used to go by but is anymore mostly just what the panel manufacturers go by, yet they use the same panel the NEC and Planar use. |

The original review is a tad long for a lazy arse like me to translate it  but the guy reports other defects, like weird lighting on vertical stripes on several units. Like he says, it seems as if Daewoo/Sensy bought faulty panels that couldn't pass quality controls and built cheap monitors with them. Doesn't mean all panels are broken or severely defective, but it'd explain both the low price and high probability of pixel/lighting issues, slight or not. Zero faulty pixels over 4 million is quite a challenge anyway, and all pixel issues are not deadly. He is totally happy with his two 30" panels too, so don't get too alarmed, just remember that quality standards and controls have a price... |

Hm. Looks like a monitor to avoid, then. Pity, could have been half-way affordable. |
