I am building a new computer and am looking for a new monitor. I am currently looking at this Dell
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Monitors/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&cs=19&sku=320-7345
I like the 16:9 because I currently use my ps3 on my 19" 16:10 with no plans to buy a tv

are there any issues I should be aware of? I haven't seen any major wide spread problem with my own reseach. Or any other 16:9 monitor suggestions for $300 or less?

There is a review thread here about it http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=14311

The monitor itself is fine, nothing fancy, you get what you pay for.

The only issue worth mentioning is the 'power saving' audio. When connected through HDMI, the sound will fade out if there is no audio data being passed through. Once the audio resumes, it takes a good 10seconds to restore to full volume again. Can be annoying on loading screens as they're generally silent, so when it finally loads, you have 10seconds of silence until it kicks back in again.

Whether this issue was ever sold in a new firmware or not, I've no idea. I gave up looking into it 8)
