Greetings travelers,
I come to you with a weird dilemma. Ever since the R331 drivers, Nvidia did something to how the Surround display is identified, if you have more than 3 displays.
In my case, I have 3 monitors + an HD TV and no matter what I do, my TV is always recognized as the first display device. Normally, this wouldn't bother me, however, the taskbar keeps fidgeting around whenever I swap focus from the TV to the surround displays. What I mean is that when I work on my Surround display, everything is fine, taskbar is confined, no problems at all, but as soon as I open a window (i.e. Chrome) on the TV, the taskbar spans across all 3 displays, breaking all my windows and annoying me to no end.
Now, I believe that this is because the TV is ID no.1 and I want to force change the ID to 2. Even if this is not the cause, I still want to find a way (that works) to force change/swap monitor ID's, that does not involve swapping cables. Again, in my case, swapping cables doesn't work because I have a GTX 690 and the TV is connected to the Display Port. I guess that SLI configs could have solved the issue that way.
What I have tried:
- Swapping cables doesn't work because it breaks my setup.
- Ultramon doesn't work, at all. The program tries to swap them but the changes do not happen in Windows.
- Clean install drivers with TV disconnected, set up surround, then plug in the TV (with reboots between every step) = doesn't work. TV is still ID 1 as soon as plugged in.
- Reinstall Windows + the above = doesn't work.
- Steps described here:

In conclusion, do you know a way to force change/swap monitor id's? or have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
