I'm currently building a 6 projector museum installation. While deciding which graphic card(s) to base it on, I came across this... ![]() That implies (to me at least!) that you can run more than 3 screens in 3D Vision, if you use extra graphic cards. Before lashing out for 2 GFX590's, can anyone confirm or deny if this is possible? Any other suggested rigs or links much appreciated Thankyou! |

Hi, it would certainly imply that adding additional cards would mean additional monitors, however as I understand at present Nvidia only allow you to create a single span of 3 monitors, any additional monitors would be treated as extended monitors. I dont know if you can insert multiple cards that are not connected via SLI to create a 2nd group of 3 or not. AMD do have a card however that does have 6 outputs such as the Asus AMD 7970 Direct CU-II top card which is able to support the open 3D industry standard of HD3D should you require 3D support, I would advise checking that the software you intend using is compatible with HD3D over Nvidia's closed 3D system. |

Thanks very much for the tip Delphium, sounds feasible I will post any results. I wish AMD would use outputs other than DisplayPort. I don't know any short throw projectors that have them, and all the conversion adaptors sure do increase the cost, and with something like this running at 120Hz in synch, that might be where the theory breaks down. As there are no active HDMI adapter's I'm aware of, I would have to buy active DVI, and then another convertor to HDMI, as most projectors offer a choice of either HDMI or VGA. From what I've read VGA "might" work, though the projector manufacturers expect 3D to be HDMI. I just forked out for a W600 and 6 mini DisplayPort to VGA adapters, so that might have to suffice for the first version. Thanks again, Cheers! |

Ehm, VGA and 120hz ? Did i miss something? But i agree! Projectors with Displayport ? Y U NO EXIST ? Even the new BenQ W1080ST only has 2x HDMI and VGA but no Displayport. ![]() Oh btw, does 3D even work with more Projectors and Warpalizer software? Or does that kill the effect? |

Not 120Hz over VGA, unfortunately. I'll going to have to use boring old 2D over VGA for now. I'm assuming, and praying that I can convert DisplayPort to HDMI and feed that into the projector. Otherwise I'm hoping the rumours are true and MST hubs will become a relaity. http://semiaccurate.com/2012/10/15/vesa ... e-by-2013/ Anybody know more about them?? Also looking into Matrox solutions. |

Matrox is a complete none starter, according to their own support staff. Nice to get a reply from them though |
