Do you have to have two cards to play games in surround? I went with amd and eyefinity fisheye is terrible. All the videos I see for nvidia surround there is little to no fisheye effects. I can't sli cards on my gigabyte 890fx though. |

as it currently stands, you need 2 nvidia for surround gaming, but only 1 ati. i have used both and found that nvidia works much better for me. But the fisheye is normally down to the field of view, i found that its better lower for some games. bad company 2 looks much better to me with fov set to 55 when using triple monitor |

Like CoolMan said, the "Fisheye" effect is something seen in all 3D games - if you were contemplating switching solely to eliminate the "Fisheye" effect, then don't, because moving from Eyefinity to NV Surround will have absolutely no effect at all. The distortion on the side screens is linked directly to the FOV. The higher your FOV, the more intense the fish-eye, however, as you decrease your FOV, typically the amount you see vertically also decreases, more or less - you are making your game "Vert-" to counteract the "Fisheye" effect. In regards to your actual question - Yes; NV Surround requires two video cards, unless you are using a Dual-PCB 1st generation GTX 295, which can accomplish surround on it's own. If you have any more questions regarding the "Fisheye" effect; I recommend reading this thread: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=8418. |
