I'm neither a Nvidia or ATI fanboy as I owned both before and make my purchasing decision based on best bang/feature for the bux.

When I got my Eyefinity card I was debating whether to go 3D gaming (nvidia) or surround gaming (ATI)

and having tried the matrox TH2Go I'm sold on surround gaming.

It kinda annoys me that after 3 months ATI still didn't give us bezel managment yet... come on.. how hard is it to do something like what Matrox did and just chop off some part of the display and shift the image over ?!

now that Nvidia does both 3D and surround.. I'm ready to jump ship.

I wonder how Nvidia will handle their Surround mode.. my concern is:
- will it support win XP?
- will we have the Display Port adapter fiasco
- will it have Bezel managment
- apparently it already support SLI already...
(unless SLI is required for surround.. then we are more screwed then the ATI DP fiasco)

ONly time will.. only time will tell.

I'll be keeping eye on this to see how it pans out. Hopefully, the ATI drivers will come good soon so I can stick with Eyefinity. If not, I'll be prepared to go with Nvidia.

SLI is required for 3D surround.

I expect high prices and low availability.

No bashing here, but I honestly do not 'get' 3D. I've looked at it and it just doesn't impress me.

Thanks, but no thanks NVidia.

I'm not really interested in the 3D side of it. It's the surround side I'm after.

You can get 200 series cards pretty cheap now so should not cost that much.

Moved to the Nvidia 3D vision surround section, since the OP's questions are basically about Nvidia 3D vision surround. :)

Note that such threads often can cause arguments, so please keep it civil. :)

ATI is at least working on it, should be coming out sooner, ATI execs are going to get on the software team's asses, families will have a lot less time with daddy (or mommy), but our drivers are going to come out a hell of a lot sooner, competition ftw!

quote from dave baumann on our forums:
Bear in mind that all of this takes time, even though its largely a software path from here, it does still take time to implement software. In real terms Eyefinity is actually less than 6 months old from a hardware perspective and so the software guys have had to rearchitect the display driver software to cope with the new display capabilities and then add on the features for Display Groups and the bezel management work that is in the pipeline at the moment; a lot of this could only begin when the chip became real and they started going out of the hardware bringup team into software feature team.
