Post subject:  Natural Selection 2 support

I got the NS2 beta (you can preorder at naturalselection2.com and get beta access via steam). Game is currently Vert-

There are a few threads on their "support" ticket site, such as this one http://getsatisfaction.com/unknownworlds/topics/proper_eyefinity_support_is_a_must_have_feature_for_release

I recommend folks sign in (via your gmail/twitter/facebook account) and vote this one up.

Post subject:  I was so excited for this

I was so excited for this game. I played the original to death, and honestly only stopped cause I got eyefinity and couldnt play it. But the ridiculous delaying of the game has lead to the eventual disintegration of my NS1 community (G4B2S), so I'm really not holding my breath for this anymore.

Post subject:  I have talked about this in

Played NS1 so much and am so excited about it. I have talked about this in the threads on the Unknown Worlds forums, Facebook, and such.

They had posted a picture on their facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/NaturalSelection2, that had got me all grumbly. NS2 on two screens with the caption "This is how NS2 should be played..." with major Vert - shown.

Post subject:  You can actually fix this

You can actually fix this yourself pretty easily. The game makes extensive use of Lua (unfortunately), but that does allow you to go in and change it.

Steamsteamappscommonnatural selection 2ns2lua

Check out the files in this folder. You can find where it handles the FOV and change it from being a horizontal FOV to a vertical FOV.

Edit:
Actually, it appears the path has changed since I last looked. You'll want to look in this file:

I took a look at that file, would you mind sharing us with your insight? The only thing I can see is overwriting GetFOV function to return a hardcoded FOV value, not exactly friendly.

Post subject:  I was hoping to have you guys

I was hoping to have you guys dig into it to mess with and learn on your own.

You can take the fov value you see there and run your own math against it.

You may see "self.fov = fov" ... but you can alter fov before it gets set there. You can do the same with other camera functions there.
