Never knew about this till today, apparently some OEMs made custom double memory versions of ye olde GTX260. Thats a larger framebuffer than than a GTX480!
A pair of them in SLI should in theory make for a very cheap and fast Surround gaming setup.

Anyone play with it?

There are retail editions of the GTX460 with 2GB VRAM also (examples: 1, 2), Paradigm Shifter has done a brief benchmark to compare the GTX460 1GB SLI vs GTX460 2GB SLI which you can find here.

Yeah I know that!? :)

Ive seen a 1.8GB GTX260 going for less than EUR140, thats cheap. No good to me as I have 2x GTX460's (1GB Im afraid, couldnt find the 2GB retail) but an interesting card. It also supports Tri SLI unlike the 460.

More RAM may mean cheaper (slower) RAM, too. But you're right, 1.8GB + tri-SLI capabilities is pretty interesting. Any link to such a card ?

Palit make them originally it seems, same guys that make my "Gainward" GLH custom PCB and super clocked GTX460's. I know they make the 2GB GTX460's too, also on custom PCB (ie non-reference) afaik.
Apparently some 2GB GTX285's out there too. Interesting guys, pains me to see their efforts debunked as a gimmick or rubbish by the peons out there running at "high res" 1920x1200. They are a god send to Surround gamers.
