I am planning a computer upgrade in maybe the next 6 months. I've tried to sort out some of the new multi-monitor options from Nvidia and ATI but I am more confused than ever.

Basically, here's what I want to do...

Run surround gaming across 3 1680x1050 screens.
Run a 4th screen via my Wacom Cintiq (1280x800)

All of the screens should have robust graphics capability. I'm currently running two screens off of a PCI-e card and one off of a PCI card, and I don't want to be slapping a slow-as-molasses PCI on my next system.

Any thoughts on how this type of configuration will suss out?

Getting two GF100's would give you the 4-ports needed, but you'll lose DX11. So My suggestion is to get a 5870 1G and then get a lower end card for the other monitor. I'd say get a GF200 series card so that no only do you get that extra port, but you also get the ability to use PhysX while in TripleHead Surround. There are some 3rd Party Drivers you need to use, a quick Google search will bring them up.
